RE: Combat results

That's some heavy losses. It's stuff like that which puts me off sending my carriers any where near Japanese fleets. Allies seem to be VERY out matched at sea in 42 from what I've seen so far.

RE: Combat results

<t> Thanks for the help. What's the optimum number of escorts I want to assign to one carrier? Ignoring the fact that I've kept my carriers all in one group, I've been using CAs and DDs to escort my carriers. And finally, after I've divided my carriers into smaller task forces, would I want them all ...

RE: Combat results

That's a shame, as the Japanese are trying to strangulate Port Moresby. Any idea as to when my carriers would be able to take on the Japanese without getting completely obliterated?

Combat results

<t> I'm currently fuming right now, as I managed to loose a whopping 5 American aircraft carriers to seemingly zilch Japanese carriers. From what I saw, the task forces were pretty even with the Japanese having a similar number of carriers.<br/>

RE: Unloading planes

<t> Beats the hell out of me, I didn't even realise until I checked the unit to see if I'd somehow loaded a group attached to the West Coast command. Sadly, I think I've over written the saved turn in which I loaded the unit. I guess it's just one of those odd things, heh. <br/>

RE: Unloading planes

Strangely enough, the problem was that the unit had no planes or pilots in it, though they're now winging their way towards the base as a sub unit.

Unloading planes

I couldn't find anything on this with search, though my internet is being a little dodgy. I'm trying to unload a B17 unit from an AK at a base, but the thing doesn't seem to want to unload.

I'm wondering if it needs a specific port level or something in order to unload them?

RE: Screen Resolution

The alternate font start command seems to have solved most of the problem for me, so I'm good to go. I guess my 7 year old 15" monitor is long past its sell by date, any how.

Screen Resolution

Hi, I purchased the game earlier and have been enjoying my self. But I was wondering if there's any way to change the screen res, because with this old monitor I have at the moment, the game really kills my eyes.

Replacements

<t> To me it seems far too easy to replace losses in divisions and such. It feels like there's no real consequences if I suffer heavy losses, because one turn later and they're most likely healed. I was under the impression that units were rarely at full strength, yet most units are full strength ...

It was going to happen but....

Any chance of a rough ETA on the patch? I just want to know whether it's worth continuing on the campaign I'm playing at the moment or waiting so at the very least I can save each turn in detailed combat. Destroying the French and Spanish is far more satisfying when you do it personally.

RE: Battles observations

<t> One thing I'd like to see resolved is the fact that the AI seems to be almost suicidal in its use of cavalry. It always seems to attack first turn with cavalry, my men then form emergency squares and then finally my cavalry charge their cavalry. This hasn't happened all of the time, but it seems ...

RE: Wish List: Suggestions for a future patch

<t> I wouldn't mind starting so close to the enemy if my forces werent' such a rabble. As such I have to endure 1,000 casualty damage from forts that my supply wagons have just started next to whilst I try reorganise my forces into something resembling a battle line. This why I don't play detailed ...

RE: Money

I played around, and found it was the trade advisor running me into the ground. I'm still struggling somewhat, but that's to be expected when I'm maintaining a multiple corps army fighting in Spain I guess.

Money

<t> I seem to bankrupt myself as Britain everysingle game I play. I only play with trade adviser on so I can keep track of spending, but even with all units on foraging, maximum taxes and my economy setup to how Ralegh's guide says, I still run myself into the ground. Part of it seems to be the fact ...
