Re: Combine Warplan & Warplan Pacific into one??

And by that, I mean Warplan 2, which might have some sort of combined feature, or is Warplan 2 going to be East Front?

And hopefully, the ability to play as ONLY one country, such as Germany OR Italy.

Re: Combine Warplan & Warplan Pacific into one??

OK, but, to clarify, are you still working on a new Warplan v2? Or has that fizzled?

Re: Individual Nation Options

Why not have the ability to play as ONLY Germany or ONLY Italy? I personally don't care about playing as, say, Romania, but sometimes I really didn't like having to play as the entire alliance, either as the Axis or Allies. It can speed up the game, but also act as a balance to give the AI a better ...

Re: Warplan 2 wishlist

Naval system question:

A while back, Alvaro put up a poll as to whether players wanted a hex-based naval system, similar to what Warplan currently has, or a zone-based system. I really prefer zone-based systems, but I'm curious where you ended up?

Looking forward to WP2!

Re: Any good

I've played a LOT of both Strategic Command and World at War. I MUCH prefer the World at War naval system. WaW naval system is much, much, MUCH more realistic at the strategic scale. Added to that, I like the lower-density of the map and fewer areas to think about. WaW is a better strategic -level g...

Re: World at War 2?

I did, and though I do like Warplan, I much prefer the area-move type system in world at war.

Is this automatically updated on Steam, or do we need to do something? I just loaded the SC ACW game on steam and didn't see it.

Re: World at War 2?

Yep! Definitely a step in the right direction. I'm mainly interested in seeing what they could come up with, given the chance the improve it. There aren't any new grand strategic ww2 games out there, so I think the market would eat this up, especially if the interface was improved and it was on Steam.

World at War 2?

Are there any plans for this great game to get a remake?

Re: Any good

By far, this is my favorite playable grand-strategic WW2 game! From the production system, land combat, to the naval combat system it is really satisfying. Much more deep than Axis and Allies, but (once you understand the interface) extremely playable. The rule book is VERY well done, so if you real...

Re: WP2 Update

That’s great news! I had a few questions jumbled in there, so will we be able to have multiplayer with more than two players?

It seems like they have expanded the PBEM+ service and now you can have more than two player games, such as FOG Empires.

Re: WP2 Update

To include the ability to have separate players for each of the Allies and Axis. I’d like to be able to play just Italy or just Germany, etc.

Re: WP2 Update

I’d be fine if you actually went to a higher scale for everything!

How about more than two players? At one point, you said that was a WP2 thing.

RE: Recruiting for Gary Grigsby's A World Divided Re-Master Beta Test

<t> This is really exciting news!<br/> <br/> World at War is, by far, my favorite PC war game. The only thing that it was missing is the PBEM support and the higher resolution. I'd worked around the resolution by editing a config file, but this will breathe new life into a game that really deserves ...

RE: Ocean Hexes or Ocean areas similar to HoI

Areas are a much better way to simulate strategic naval warfare. Hexes are fine for localized land combat, but naval warfare, abstracted with uncertain encounters, etc., is (in my opinion) MUCH more accurate with a zone rather than hexes.

Port supply in N. Africa with HQ question

<r> Can someone explain how this works? In the first pic, the HQ is one hex closer to the port supply. Also, why are all those hexes to the East in 1 supply?<br/> <br/> <IMG src="https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/upfiles/10250/34401A5F3B9547F9A9CC5E67BE936CE5.jpg"><s>[img]</s><URL url="https://www....

RE: Steam Version

Why is this? I understand if sales aren't good, but looking at forum interest, this game seems to warrant a Steam release.
