RE: Interested but cautious

<t> I liked playing this game on the computer and the board game. The only issue I had with the computer game vs. board game is the AI being weak, and that's a problem I've found with all computer games.<br/> <br/> I've also played the Total War: Napoleon game, which is a great game for this time pe...

Slider doesn't work?

Playing on a PC.

Slider for Armageddon doesn't work on unit selection screen. Purchasing units, selecting units, etc.

Slider works fine for Panzer corps.

AI MP Comments

<t> Comments on AIs: Generally, PR comes out the best (simplest tactics maybe?). General comments all AI players put too many infantry factors into garrison and not enough into corps. All AI players overcommit forces to minor countries. All AI players are slow to complete conquests of minor countrie...

<r> <QUOTE><s>[quote]</s>ORIGINAL: pzgndr<br/> Beyond that, and based on the sample rotation given above, what other insights should Marshall consider?<br/> - Do the difficulty settings for easy/medium/hard need to be reconsidered?  Hard AI currently receives 20% bonus on manpower and money but mayb...

Sample Rotation (vs. AI players)

<t> Here is a sample rotation as France vs. the AI players. Note: AI players on hard. All other six players at war with France in 1805. Note that Russia managed to hold out for five years (until Nov, 1810) with two of those years being the only remaining power at war with France. <br/> <br/> 1812, S...

Econ Phase Warning

<t> We have all these econ phase warnings on buying new corps (when in most cases there are no new corps available).<br/> <br/> What we don't have is a warning that you havn't spent your manpower or money yet.<br/> <br/> It is very easy to overlook a minor free state. It would be nice to have a warn...

RE: A comment on optional rules

Oh yes, and perhaps most important optional rule of them all, the ability for other major powers to become a dominant power. Really inspires people to try and achieve something other than victory points.

A comment on optional rules

<t> 1) One of my favorite optional rules is the limit on lost provinces: can only lose 3 provinces maximum (prevents elimination of a player).<br/> 2) Another optional rule: Other pre-existing DOWs besides GB vs. FR<br/> 3) GB vs. FR can only end in unconditional surrender<br/> 4) Kingdom of North I...

RE: AI Comments

<t> Another AI comment: AI does not build minor free state forces.<br/> <br/> I saw free state Egypt, Sweden, Denmark, Hesse etc. not build any free state forces. I confirmed that the AI was not building forces by wiping out the minor free state corps, but leaving the country in the control of the A...

RE: Is this game slowly dying?

<t> As someone who recently started playing the computer version (and played the board game many years ago), I'm pretty happy with the progress on EiA. <br/> <br/> As I see it, there are three modes you can play the game in (and possibly hybrids).<br/> <br/> Human vs. AI<br/> <br/> Human vs. Human (...

AI Comments

<t> Some comments on AI<br/> <br/> 1) AI builds far too many garrisons and not enough infantry corps. In a 1.08 game, the AI Russia has over 150 factors of infantry in garrisons and no infantry corps. Only cavalry and artillery corps are on the map. This is while at war with France for 3+ years. Oth...

Exporting Messages, Picking Move Order

<t> A couple of questions:<br/> <br/> 1) Is there any way to export the messages? The display panel is hard to read. I like that is shows all the messages from the beginning of the game (DOW, control, combat, etc). I'd like to copy or export those messages to word, notepad, or another text editor.<b...
