RE: Problems setting up reserves. Can't continue game

That fixed things. Thanks for the autosave tip - wasn't aware of those. Would anyone like a copy of my saved game for bug fixing?

RE: Annual 98

<t> (fu) and (fd) are short for "face up" and "face down". When playing on a table, ships in the production spiral are face down if in their first build cycle and will go to the construction pool when finished; ships face down in the production spiral are in their second cycle will go to the map ...

Problems setting up reserves. Can't continue game

<r> Global war, calling out reserves on Allied 1st impulse after CW, France declare war on Germany. I saved the game, quit, and restarted later right before starting to call out the reserves. Now I can't place any of them. Notice in the screen shot that I am trying to place the Berlin reserve in ...

RE: Invasion!!

<t> In the board game, the islands in each sea zone have a default owner in 1939; if there are any deviations from the default in a sea zone, then those are printed on the map. The other islands are owned by the default owner (Japan) in 1939 but Guam was a US territory so it is labeled USA. Those ...

RE: What did you do today in World in Flames?

<t> Global war, finished setup, played axis 1st impulse. German Air Force did squat (disorganized 1 division) but the attacks went well. Japanese attacked in the South, killing some Chinese units by Hainan but losing an ART, opening some space for further offenses in the south. Italians did nothing ...

RE: Production costs

<t> For the most part, each power's force pools are what they were in the board game. This is part of what gives each power its national characteristics - Germany has lots of strong armor, commonwealth lots of battleships and cruisers, Japan a strong naval Air Force and quality carrier air, etc. If ...

RE: Production Planning and Convoy Troubles

Yep, I knew that rule. I guess the designers felt it would was unrealistically long to go sea-land-sea, plus it would let the UK ship all their Pacific resources via the North Atlantic via Canada.

RE: Production Planning and Convoy Troubles

<t> What I'm trying to set up is something I saw in a setup somewhere where the Australian resources are convoyed to Canada via relatively safer and shorter chains than would be needed to ship them all the way to the UK. Then the Canadaian resources would be shipped to the UK via the North Atlantic ...

Production Planning and Convoy Troubles

<r> So, what am I doing wrong here...<br/>
<br/>
I'm setting up the CW convoy system and I want to convoy a resource from Rouyn, Canada to the UK. Right now according to the production planning form, it is being used to produce in Montreal, and both the Action (Production) and the Destination ...

RE: ActiveX component can't create object

Just to chime in:

I am having pretty much the same problem. Very new Gateway, dual core processors, Windows Vista, Office 2007.

I get an error on the attempted install of Directx, and then the same error messages as the gentleman above. Mine was a clean install.

Long time player of the never-ending beta

<r>Well, poor Chris Marinacci is off the job. It was a valiant effort, but probably too big for one person. But I was worried that I'd have to learn an entirely new interface from the current (now extinct) beta.<br/>
<br/>
But as I thought about it, I realized that Matrix Games should start from ...
