RE: Bayonet charges

<r> Thanks Steve, thought that was the case but I was worried that one side or the other might be getting more firepower back than would be historically possible. So as long as I make changes that stick in the scenario editor - they should stick right? It's best to keep unit strength at 100% but I ...

Bayonet charges

<t> Just wanted to ask. Lets say for my WW1 scenario I have taken out the SMGs and LMGs and HMGs for the 'line' units so each side is armed generally with Bolt Action Rifles. When I play the game, my side is armed the way I've edited them but the other side says it has all these anachronistic ...

RE: True update is letting me get the patch...

The zip is really smaller right? :-) I'm at 53% and worried that my computer's i-net connection will give out!

Cheers,
Tom

Getting around Estabs

<t> Of course while you can't modify the estabs you can tweak things to get them just right. I've been able to do OOBs for diverse places like Serre 1916, Santiago 1898 and Gallipoli 1915 even one for Hong Kong 1941, though of course there are plenty of 'abstractions'. One way around getting ...

RE: Gallipoli

Your Gallipoli scenario looks wonderful! Though I'm guessing its mainly focused on the Anzac Landings? Hopefully some bright fellow comes up with one for HTTR :) I'm doing the initial research already :) Does it have a Turkish OOB?

Best regards!

RE: The WWI scenario that someone was working on???

<t> Hi there Golf33,<br/>
<br/>
About your earlier advice, I'm not sure exactly how the whole supply set-up works. If there's a supply base then it provides supply, if not then HQ provides supply, if there's a division and regimental supply base then division passes it down the line to regimental ...

Opinion poll on British unit scale for SERRE

<t> Hi there,<br/>
<br/>
As per Golf33's suggestions I'm revamping the OOB (I was using MOT Inf Coys not 'leg' Inf Coys) and since I'm working on the OOB anyways I was wondering if you guys could give me your opinion on game scale? I know the smallest Allied Infantry unit in HTTR is a company and ...

RE: The WWI scenario that someone was working on???

<t> To all and sundry, (especially you sir, Mr.Moorhouse) sorry for what seemed like an arrogant reply some time ago when I asked for outside information. Real life has been extremely stressful and my confusion over the map has been driving me nuts. I didn't mean to sound so impatient. Again my ...

RE: Gallipoli

<r> Where can you find the Gallipoli scenario for KP? Does it simulate the Suvla landings or the April landings? Is it ANZAC only or the whole peninsula?<br/>
<br/>
By the way, the Australian war histories say that its a myth that a British officer ordered the 3rd Light Horse Brigade to charge the ...

RE: The WWI scenario that someone was working on???

<r> Hi there Steve,<br/>
<br/>
Actually it's not really necessary as it's outside the scope of the action I'm simulating w/c is the battle for Serre. What I meant was it's impossible to simulate the BLOWING UP of the mines by the Tunnelling Companies of RE. In my less sane moments I was pondering ...

on the Longest Day and a Bridge Too Far

<t> Trivial useless info...<br/>
<br/>
Did you know:<br/>
<br/>
Dirk Bogarde, who plays General Frederick 'Boy' Browning in the Attenborough epic, A Bridge Too Far, was 'there' during Operation Market Garden? He was on Monty's staff. <br/>
<br/>
Peter Lawford, who plays Commando leader Lord ...

RE: The WWI scenario that someone was working on???

<r> Dang I finally found out what I was doing wrong... I somehow got the impression that the size entered in the MM prog was pixels (since the instructions asked me to scale it at a 1m x 1pixel ratio) not meters. Duhhh!!! No wonder my maps were impossibly small. It's really this thing that I've been ...

RE: HTTR Patch

In my Serre 1916 scenario I've made most ww2 weapons except the rifles and mortars 0 amount. The patch won't somehow change that right? Even if the estabs strength changes the number I've set there won't right?

thanks,
Tom

RE: Other Campaigns, Not In Panther's Schedule

<t> Just run a search in Google for your favorite campaign and you're sure to find something. Say *campaign name* or *battle name* and "OOB". <br/>
<br/>
By the way, whatever maps you design need to have a base area of at least 4x4 km so when they're scaled down they come out to 1000x1000 pixels ...

RE: The WWI scenario that someone was working on???

<r> Well it would go a bit faster if you guys would care to help in the research. I'm doing pretty well with online sources but any other outside sources that you have available would help greatly. Mainly need info on the 31st, 4th and 48th Divisions on June 30-July 5 (battle of the Serre) or, for ...

RE: The WWI scenario that someone was working on???

<r> I'm still here <E>:-)</E> Glad to see we're back on line. I'm reworking the map and OOB completely and the scenario just seems to be growing like a hungry child. It was just supposed to be the 94th Brigade of the 31st Division and now, due to the 4m per pixel scale of the map I'm going to end up ...

RE: HTTR Patch

<t> Final thing though probably not for this patch... would it be possible to allow you to write your own victory/defeat debriefing text? I mean as scenario makers venture into other areas like for instance Caen 1944 or something it might not necessarily be Model and Montgomery sending you that ...

RE: HTTR Patch

<t> Perhaps it's too late for this but would it be possible to have everything representable at battalion level as well? Some units are only representable as companies/batteries and as such I've ended up using 200+% sized companies as 'mini-battalions' and of course the unit size symbol is wrong ...

RE: Campaign Scenario

<t> I've been wondering about that too but after having the Deelen scenario crash on me several times at max speed I think that you would be able to play any sort of grand scale battle at normal speed (and finish it in half a month no stopping hey!) and even that would be pushing it. The problem I ...

101 ABN Coy Coms - Asked this in the other forums

<t> Also, would it be possible to include the Company Commanders of the American Airborne divisions? I played the Eindhoven scenario and I was kinda disappointed that the Coy Commanders weren't represented. I mean it's not just colour - their fighting styles can influence a battle. I was doing a ...
