A Welcome Rarity...

This is perhaps the second time I've seen two different ships hit in the same spread in many, many years of playing this great game.
Question: Has anyone seen THREE or MORE ships hit in one spread?

Re: OT Strange people in this world

Had a medic who, prior to the Army, was an EMT and he told us in one of our first aid sustainment classes: "Anything that can be inserted in one's fourth-point-of-contact, will be inserted. The probability of that happening is increased when alcohol, drugs or social pressure is involved."

Re: UNIT DISPERSES!!

I learned that if you buy back destroyed units that were set to no replacements, no upgrades, then they return to home base as no replacements, no upgrade; therefore, once these units arrive, one needs at a minimum to turn on their replacements, and if supply at base is low, then increase the supply ...

Re: Kamikaze vs. Heavy Cruiser

Off the top of my head, several cruisers and battleships were damaged by kamikazes off the Philippines during the Leyte operation, Australia and Mississippi perhaps. Personnel losses were not insignificant as they were mainly AA crews but structural damage was nil. Again, off the top of my head FWIW.

Re: Aircraft Transport

Use xAK types. My personal house rule is the following: use AKV's for 4-engine types that can't fly from off-map to on-map, everything else on xAK.

Why a house rule for that?

My own personal house rule, amongst others. To the best of my knowledge 4-engine bombers couldn't be disassembled ...

Re: Lesser-Known Ships of the Pacific War - RFA Fast Leaf Class Oilers

Kohler, I used 7000t for fuel capacity. I preferred to use a conservative number as I had asked the forum if anyone had either done research on Liberty tankers, or had an inkling as to fuel capacity in-game for real world tankers - I received no helpful answers to my query, sadly.

Re: Lesser-Known Ships of the Pacific War - RFA Fast Leaf Class Oilers

Looks good Cav and LST, the Leaf Class oilers have been resurrected! I'm still trying to understand how to translate real world ship specs into WitP ship numbers, so now I can add those to my mod as well. Congrats to LST and Cav on your mods, some really excellent work. The dedication of this ...

The OP photo was listed on an episode on Youtube's "Skynea History" channel, the guy does select videos on history, especially naval (akin to Drachinifel). This particular video covered the scavenging of war grave wrecks particularly in the DEI and South China Sea locales.

Re: OT: Real Life Connections to War in the Pacific

My step-grandfather served with the 34th Special Naval Construction Battalion from its activation to deactivation, eventually deploying to Guam after the island was secured. He was an "old" man at the time, in his early 30's, married with three boys (the eldest being my step-dad) and worked in the ...

Re: DaBabes question

I vaguely recall the 503d having amphib squads in its TO&E but from many, many years ago, possibly from the original WITP. The 503d in the DaBabes scenario I use has para squads; for my (altered DaBabes) mod I altered the regiment's TO&E to upgrade it to a regimental combat team by adding a company ...

The merchies haul the supplies and fuel delivered to the base. They are the convoy and disappear after three days.

Re: "Error: building nation can't build X over Y tons"

+1

The auto design also presents with ships that can't be built due to turret placement and speed; both are in excess of hull width (hull being too narrow).
