RE: Airfield attack from B17s

ORIGINAL: Knaust

RE: Question for Allied players

<t> I tried playing around with splitting some of the Indian divisions up and toggling replacements off for most units. My theory was that since the Indian replacement rate is pretty low, maybe it was better to have a near full strength regiment on the line while the other regiments that make up the ...

RE: How is this for an exciting moment

<t> I've seen and heard the story of that shot before but I'm not sure of the accuracy...<br/>
<br/>
Anyway, what I'd heard IIRC is that the Hornet tried to fire the missile in-flight but the missile was somehow jammed on its rail and didn't fire. <br/>

When the Hornet landed back on deck ...

RE: Name This...(148)

As one of my sergeants used to say:

"The only useless weapon is the one that isn't fired in the general direction of the enemy"

Still - it'd be preferable if that weapon had a better than reasonable chance of actually hitting something [:D]

Withdrawing USAFFE airgroups

<t> Quick question: Why is it that if you split the 24th FG at Manila or 19th BG at Clark, then withdraw one of the sub-units, do they show up in the reinforcement list as being under the command of SW Pacific?<br/>
<br/>
I'm guessing that someone in the war department is either a distant relation ...

My grandad always remarked about how big his was.

Sorry - couldn't resist! That could be taken horribly out of context [:D]

RE: Question about computer AI

<t> I've got the situation in Malaya in early '42 where I'm still holding Singapore and still maintain significant numbers of Vengenance TB's and Blenheim/Beaufort LB's there. <br/>
<br/>
The IJN keeps sending unescorted groups of small AK's and AP's around the peninsular to Tavoy - but along the ...

If this is not a bug, then dutch subs are next to useless after they run out of ammo and after the fall of the DEI(due to short range from size 9 ports). The Dutch and British should have their own AS's and AD's.

Fighter Sweeps vs ground targets

<r> Just want to check something...<br/>
<br/>
I'm on my 6th run through scenario 17 as allies vs AI (having never played PBEM yet) and I've just finished a turn in late 42 where I had for some reason set a marine fighter squadron flying F4F's to a sweep mission from Irau to Lunga and accidently ...

Uber Zero escorts

<t> Quick question... How does the computer seem to have knowledge of what I'm doing with my CAP after his turn has already been processed, and then increase his escort and reduce his bomber count accordingly and has anyone else seen this or is it just me?<br/>
