RE: Who Is Still Here?

Not sure if the "still here" applies to me as I am a late comer to raising my head above the parapet and actually contributing to the forum. However have been reading it for many years and in that sense I am indeed “still here”.

Partial problem

<t> Playing as Japanese in stock I've just lost my first atoll (Tarawa) after a long battle. The units on the atoll were not killed cleanly but died by attrition. It looks like this has caused some problems with a partial of the 5th Coastal Gun Reg. which was on Kwajalein waiting to go forward and c...

RE: The End

<t> Thank you for your effort Tocaff. As a late come regular user of the forum I enjoyed reading along as this epic developed into the final days of the war and even picked up a few tactical and strategic pointers for my own game. Having said this, often it was just too easy to forget this was an AA...

RE: Low morale in India

<t> I'm at about the same point. If a unit is low on morale I tend to try to get higher admin leaders and if they are going into combat I swap out for new leaders with higher land skill and aggression but can’t see any impact on morale, though the combat performance benefits from the higher aggressi...

RE: My troubles with escorts

I agree with this. I've had trouble with fighters not escorting bombers when I've had a target set for the fighters.

RE: Japanese air production

<t> Understood ndworl. I guess it depends on our different gameplay strategies. I'm in late August 43 as Japan vs a human player and have maintained momentum in the air battle so far but I am now facing Corsairs and Hellcats and finding the performance of my Tonys, Zekes and Jacks just isn't enough ...

RE: Japanese air production

<t> For my money, early in the game, I stop the repair of the Frank factory to save the supply for other more useful things like supporting invasions or building defences on far flung islands. The Frank is definitely superior to the Tojo especially in having 4 x 20mm cannon, more durable faster and ...

RE: Japenese supply

I don't think there is a bridge to Takematsu in the game. It wasn't opened until 1980's. I think you need to ship the oil and resources.

RE: Rescuing remnants w/o a port?

I'm pretty sure I've done it with AKs or APs but I'm not sure I've ever tried it with a sub. Can't really see why not though. I'd be interested to hear how you get on.

RE: Irrational retreats

<t> Troops will not retreat into an enemy (or contested) ZoC so make sure your preferred line of retreat is available but other than this, I don't think there is any mechanism to control retreats. IIRC Allied troops, on the fall of Sian, retreat towards Lanchow rather than towards Chungking so to pr...

RE: AVG kill tally oddity

<t> Bill, I've not spotted the oddity you mention but will look out for it from here on. What I have got in my game (which defies real world based explanation) is my opponent (allies) reporting a C47 unit with many kills (circa one hundred planes downed). I'm no database expert, but intuitively it m...

Have you checked the air group C.O. stats? Fighter commanders need high aggression above all else. Might be the source of your problem if aggression is low?

You'll find the option to lay mine / not to lay mines on the TF screen in the centre (below the picture). its same place as the unload / do not unload option on a transport TF. Happy mining.

Japanese PC Build Question

Playing as Japanese in stock in June 43: can anyone tell me if PCs come off of the naval build points or do they come off of the merchant build points? Thanks.

RE: Rescued remnant Dutch Units

If its a fragment, you can only roll it into its parent unit. If the parent unit gets destroyed then the fragment becomes the parent and will rebuild.
