<t> Heh. After the experience of the W@W beta, I feel for you JosephL. One screenshot becomes the game. [:)]<br/> <br/> I take it with a grain of salt. Tanks have horribly thin top armor and I would think they'd try to leave an area getting that heavily saturated (especially if they are green tanker...

RE: Infantry in Panzer Command?

Erik has some interesting comments on this in the Soviet gameplay thread.

(Speaking of that thread...how did I manage to convince myself that the Soviet force involved wasn't Guards when that's stated in the text entering this forum....)

RE: A long time coming!

<t> It would certainly be interesting. Flames of War (the miniatures game, which is a neat diversion even if I tend to disagree with some of the things they've done) has a blocking detachment unit, but luckily doesn't have to worry about the ESRB. [:)] The mechanics there allow for re-rolling of mor...

RE: Soviet gameplay

<t> Erik,<br/> <br/> What are we going to get in terms of Soviet troop quality, and what is the game's overall approach to troop quality? I don't want to use CMBB terms, so I'll use conscript/recruit/trained. I would assume that the bulk of Soviet infantry would be mostly recruit, with some conscrip...

RE: Panzer Command FAQ

<r> I hope so too. I realize my message can be read the wrong way, so let me clarify - I think the bar will be to make sure this game has simple and accessible gameplay, but with tactical depth. If you do that, then, for me at least, it should be a joy, whether or not it has every vehicle ever built...

RE: Panzer Command FAQ

<t> Looks great. I know you say it's not trying to be the next CM, but honestly that's going to be the bar in terms of gameplay. Most of the complexity of CM was under the hood, and it played simply.<br/> <br/> Anyway, it looks great, and I'm moderately pumped to see it! (Especially since CM won't h...

Had my first game also crash in a battle between the French w/ Napoleon and the Austrians + Russians, right at the end as I had them on the run.

Check again. W@W has a windowed mode, both in the options menu and using the -w shortcut.

RE: AAReport - Ralegh as Prussia

<t> I wonder if we're being overly hard on the game, suggesting it needs to be toughened up based solely on beta reports. My experience posting AARs for W@W leads me to believe that we, the non-testing public, tend to overemphasize things. <br/> <br/> In order to correct this, we need to play for ou...

[Noob Question] Wars & Surrender

<t> So...how does this game work? It seems most mainstream games (total war, etc.) work on the "conquer the world" principle where you have to take all or a substantial amount of territory on the map and hold it.<br/> <br/> Reading the AARs, it seems CoG is more focused on fighting wars than on taki...
