RE: VETBoB Beta

<t> Hey Platoon,<br/>
<br/>
Great Mod, really fun. However the strat map seems a little wonky? It's hard to explain what the problem is; best way to describe it is moving BG's on the strat map only works if you hover them on the 'borders' of the appropriate map, again, hard to explain. I'm sure ...

RE: About sounds

Hey Topper,

I too found this troubling. However, it's easy to import sounds from one CC game into another via a tool called 'SFXPACK' which is available over at closecombatseries.net.

The Battlegroup Screen

<t> Is anyone else having trouble discerning what German units are what in the BG screen? I understand the basics and whatnot of what a panzer IV is and what its capable of. But not being a German speaker, I don't really know what I'm looking at when I see 'Schwere Zug [gp]' and the like. Also, why ...

RE: Modifying Sound

Sapa what program are you using to open the weapons file? Mine is by default weapons.txt and I cannot make heads or tails of it.

RE: Modifying Sound

<t> Well I've compiled my own personal sound.sfx file and it's really good! It's a combination of vetbob for WaR and the War Realism Sound Mod for WaR. I will look into getting permissions so i can make it available to the CC community. Ultimately I would like to throw together my own weapons sounds ...

I agree with Steiner, this series needs to head back to the eastern front!

RE: Modifying Sound

All the CC games contain their weapons sounds in a .sfx file which contains .wav files. Other than that I'm not sure which system your referring to? I'm sure someone on here knows, the CC community on here is a little more robust than over at slitherine.

Modifying Sound

<t> I asked around on the Slitherine forums regarding this topic, unfortunately I received a less than enthusiastic response. My question is: how do i go about unpacking and then swapping (what I assume are) .wav files from the sound.sfx file? I have some great sound mods for CC:WaR that I would ...

Hello, Just purchased JTCS...

<t> ...and thoroughly enjoying it! Some quick questions.<br/>
<br/>
1. I have played through the first few scenarios of EF and i've done alright, a few draws and a some minor victories. I would like to move on to do a campaign now, and im wondering what campaigns are suitable for a beginner. For ...

<t> Hi WB,<br/>
<br/>
I just bought MCSE...and im impressed with the effort and scope put into it.<br/>
<br/>
But i have a minor question here (or maybe a bug) to ask of WB or anyone playing MCSE.<br/>

RE:

<t> Im gonna be cynical here for a second. BoB and Saving Private Ryan have both been mentioned numerous times. Straight up, neither of those movies represent 'realistic' combat in any sense. Remember where Tom Hanks in SPR says "That's an MG42!"...i don't know what the director (Spielberg) thinks ...

RE: Noob Questions

Hey Ol_Dog,

Thx for the suggestion, I have a little question about 027.

What is the best way to spot that AT piece guarding the main road to the cadet school and then flush it out?? I laid up smoke screens and tried a pincer on the town but ran out of time.

Noob Questions

1) How do i get my infantry to lay smoke? When i hit the prescribed 'd' key nothing happens...

2) Could someone recommend to me what maps i should try after the little tuturiol map. I keep stumbling into maps that are a little overwhelming for me at this point. I have V.8.1

RE: To New Forum Members: Check in Here

<r> Hi all,<br/>
<br/>
I also introduced myself sort of in another forum. But i'll do it again with some more personal details.<br/>
<br/>
I originally hail from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada (home of the famous (for us canucks) PPCLI 2nd Battallion). Im presently staying in Victoria, British ...

Happiness and Something Strange

<t> Happiness: Finally, after literally YEARS of scouring game shelves and reading reviews, finding a game that works, is fun, and addictive. Not only does this game have incredible depth but also a good community to boot. You guys are the people I've been looking for years for. I have gone through ...
