Re: Pleaseindicate if a game supports eyesight problems

I use the Windows magnifier app for reading small print for map or unit details when I cannot enlarge the map or UI any more. It is a bit of a pain to employ but I have gotten used to using it. Good luck.

Re: Pleaseindicate if a game supports eyesight problems

I am visually impaired due to an optic nerve condition and use the Windows magnifier app when playing games. It works well. I also endorse the use of a large monitor; the larger the better. Hope this helps.

Re: Need help buying a new rig

Thanks Zak, and all of you, for the info. And yes, Ranger, not sure I want to support Lenovo. It used to be "made in Japan," and now it's made in the PRC. :?

Anyway, not sure what an "M2 boot drive" is, but will look for a 2TB hard drive if they are reliable. I see the 16GB graphics cards are ...

Re: quiescent hex-based PC wargame scene

Not a lot of new hex-based wargames being produced in the Matrix/Slitherine world the last couple of years. Is that indicative of a changing business model, or just few new PC hex-based wargames being developed in general?

Yes, Matrix has produced a few lately, but it seems to me not as active as ...

Re: I prefer older game types to new supposedly graphics greater

Lately, I have finally succumbed to the ravages of time and have been doing some "retro-gaming": hex and counter, turn-based: Decisive Campaigns series and WDS Panzer Campaigns, Panzer Battles, and Squad Battles. For some reason, I feel at home in the genre and there I will stay. It is enough ...

I also experienced the LOS bug when playing. Running Windows 10. Was able to get around it by clicking in an empty hex then re-selecting. Was more than mildly annoying.

Updates

I have put all the Matrix games I can on Steam because the Matrix updater hasn't been working on my PC for years and I can automatically update my games on Steam so, I have forgotten: are the Matrix updates cumulative or do I have to apply each update listed?

Thanks,

Re: SGS Korean War: The very best of SGS games

Been playing Korean War lately and I am really impressed with the game mechanics and the AI. I am learning the Air Defense phase and all is well. I take back everything derogatory I said about the game and engine.

Korean game is not bad because of air phase I think more about AI problems. Their latest patch doesn't seem to adress it.

Re: SGS NATO`s Nightmare

I have to agree. I previously had gushed a bit about SGS Korean War and was rightfully put in my place regarding the Air Phase of that game. ;)

This one too has its idiosyncrasies. But it such a sweeping monster of a game. Lots of counters in the big scenarios, but certainly less that WitE. I ...

GHPC is the best there is. IL-2 Sturmovik has a Tank Crew module for WW2 action.

Got Heia Safari and it is just the right size and I love it so far. I may get Taipings, against my better judgment.
