RE: FDB General

This hex esotericism is what makes me ambivalent about buying this and WITW.
I am really attracted to the idea of playing these theatres, but don't like the idea of being
bogged down in this minutiae instead of concentrating on strategy and tactics.

Question to posters of AARs

I am a potential buyer and trying to understand the game from your enthusiastic posts.

I am seeing lots of detailed spreadsheet results and wondering how you manage to digest and then
use this information when making strategic and tactical decisions?

Request

As someone who is considering purchasing WITW by reading the AARs, could a guide to map symbols
be pinned to the top of this forum?

Thanks

RE: Will I, wont I, will I.....

If I had unlimited funds I would buy WITE, WITW and another non-Matrix title which would cost best
part of £200! This is a problem in constrained optimisation with imperfect knowledge - bit like
warfare really.

Will I, wont I, will I.....

Wish there was a demo of this 'game'. Looks frighteningly complex and time-consuming with micro-management.
Just finished reading Beevor's Stalingrad and would like an Eastern Front challenge, but its a lot of
money to waste if I cant cut it.

RE: AI Extra Cost When It's Released?

<t> I have to say that I am intrigued by the conceptual problems of simulating strategic and tactical decision-making for the AI under <br/>
uncertainty. The 'intelligence' available for the AI would have to be limited by the fog of war. Off the top of my head the AI <br/>
would have to consider ...

RE: Alpha Test Late War Scenario-1944/45

I'm no expert but is this credible. I thought German troops were far superior and would have expected Soviet ground losses to be greater.

RE: Admiral's Edition Intro Movie

<t> Why oh why, does Martrix seem intent on perpetuating a culture that makes WitP players seem to be an exclusive club or cult. The policy of restricting the AE manual and intro movie to 'subscribers' to WitP does nothing to attract new buyers and everything to generate resentment on the part of ...

I've just ordered the non-Matrix boxed version of WW1 . Can you please advise how to patch it up to the latest version.

Many thanks

RE: War in the Pacific: Admiral's Edition Game Manual!

<t> Terminus, those who are deterred by the scope of the game have already decided not to buy over the life of WitP. The worst-case scenario is that the manual will increase their resolve, but it might stimulate interest in those who look at it out of curiosity.<br/>
It seems to me that Matrix have ...

RE: War in the Pacific: Admiral's Edition Game Manual!

<t> Hi Erik<br/>
<br/>
If you wish to expand ownership of WitP:AE, is not counter-intuitive to restrict distribution of the manual to owners of WitP?<br/>
<br/>
I would have thought that to make it freely available would generate interest in a new audience.<br/>

Best wishes<br/>

Hi terminus, I have little familiarity with the game engine. Does it offer the flexibility for a turn to simulate 1 day of reality, 1 week or 1 month etc.?
