RE: 8.1--->8.2?

Not realy sure if 8.2 is worth the trouble yet. I've heard of some problems so have held off.
Still using 8.0 d & loving it.
understand yur frustration, but the dial up folks are the one I really feel for, having been one myself until recently.

RE: Managing Mines

<t> My current missin I used engineers (support troops) layed down a smoke screen and dropped a lot of arty fire on likely AT positions & just a couple of hexes behind the mines where i expected the AI infantry to be. This worked well as it kept them suppressed, then if they get a shot in thru the ...

Try using the Quick Start from your programs menu. The regular start didn't work for me with version 8.0d

RE: Tank Suppression

<t> Still, it seems like crews hit only by light weapons would be more likely to put it in reverse & get the tank out of there, not bale out into all that small arms fire. Perhaps different supression effects are needed for the small caliber infantry weapons as opposed to larger AT & IG fire. ?</t>

RE: Can i patch 8.0 to 8.2 ?

Still playing 8.0d here & liking it. I heard 8.2 had some problems with when EQ becomes available so thought I'd wait a bit to make the change.
Can anyone give me any reasons to move to 8.2 ? What changes make a difference so to speak ?

RE: Fav AFVs ?

My new Fav is the PIVC. Just took out a T34 at one hex with an HE shell!??!

Had 2 PzIIIs pour 6 shots each into the sides of the beast from one hex with little effect. Then bang crew destroyed by the humble little PIV. [:D]

Quite a relief.

Being hit by a HE shell is one thing, but MG fire?<br/>
<br/>
And the tank is limited in it's abilitys by being "buttoned up" anyways, so I agree with ILCK that the added supression by MG fire is a bit questionable. Furthermore since the AI ...

Mines! Minen! ??

Please vote! Mines On or Off ? Some say it takes too long to clear minefields to fit in the time scale of SPWAW battles i've heard.

What do you think ? Do you play with mines or not?

RE: Tank Suppression

<t> Just some thoughts...A fella who served in tanks said getting hit by anything makes you stop & go "What the heck was that!? Are we alright?" heavy HE shells would certainly have an effect, but rifle & mg fire ? Depends on experience probably. Maybe in game terms it represents the tank moving ...

Can i patch 8.0 to 8.2 ?

Is there a patch upgrde? or can I install 8.2 over 8.0? Will it mes up my campaigns that I have been playing ?

If I should post this Q somewhere else let me know, don't see a SPWAW tech forum--not really necesary I guess. [:D]

RE: Fav AFVs ?

ImmortalJack,
Yeah that Japanese flame tank is nice esp since it has 2 flamethrowers & I think 10 shots n each of them. But ya have to kill the enemy tanks before you can use it much. I did toast some Russian tanks with it during a night time defense tho.
