RE: Researching German A/C

<t> May want to consider for all the vauntedness of the 262:<br/> <br/> Of 1433 aircraft flown off the Manufacturers fields, only about 500 were flown in combat (lack of fuel, probably lack of engines - 25hr life on some of the Jumo 004Bs, possible lack of pilots?).<br/> <br/> The Me262 killed appro...

RE: New working Title

But that doesn't leave anything if it is decided to do a full Air Campaign for the entirety of WW2?

Well, I suppose it could be the "World Urban Remodelling Kit" :p

Being released through STEAM apparently.

Not sure if there will be another publisher for a CD version or not - if there is I expect it to be EA.

RE: Researching German A/C

<r> There are some problems here with the research.<br/> <br/> If the Germans can carry out research of advanced designs, why in heck can the Allied player not drag Whittle away from the Rover Car company and give him to, say, Rolls-Royce? The jet engine was delayed years by this decision.<br/> <br/...

Couple of questions

<r> I have the demo from the 2000 release, and was wondering first of all if there was an updated demo, or if this is in the works?<br/> <br/> Also, is it possible to upgrade ships in the full game? This is not an option in the demo, and I find it quite a hinderence in the 3rd demo mission when the ...

<t> Sorry, Goblin, forgot to specify my post was directed at Major Johnson. Stupid newbie question, but have you checked the preferences when playing against him?

Also, what tanks does he normally use and what dates do you play over?

RE: SPWAW and SPMBT similar mechanics?

<t> With regards to tank speed the T-34 has an official road speed of 34mph, and in W@W an off-road speed of 16mph (through plain terrain). When I used a Cenurion in MBT off road through plain terrain it had a speed of 5mph with an official rating of 22mph road speed.<br/> <br/> Thus MBT tanks are r...

What space do I need on my HDD? Text lists it as 900MB, but pure 8.2 is 1.00GB in size and occupies 1.08GB (think I may need to de-frag...).

RE: SPWAW and SPMBT similar mechanics?

<t> Sort of... sort of not.<br/> <br/> Both games use the same basic engine, but W@W has been refined far more than MBT.<br/> <br/> The crucial difference is that MBT uses abstract armour values whereas W@W attempts to use realistic armour values. RE: Killed units & experience in 8.2: Is it fixed?

<t> "Casualties" does not necessarily mean "fatalities". Not got any idea on the actual values, but I would expect something like 75% of "kills" to mean that the injured party is too wounded to fight on for that battle. Of those maybe 50% would be incapable of ever fighting again due to the nature o...

Turret versus non-turret

In the turret vs. non-turret debate, the turreted TDs had one advantage over the non-turreted TDs - they could react faster due to the turret - useful when a tank suddenly appears slightly off centre.
