RE: The Screams of the deceased Soldiers, HLYA(G) vs Gunnulf(S)

Sorry, I meant no Axis Airfield bombing on T1. I got Kirov and still lost but it was a very unusal game and I think we switched to playing outrageously just for fun.

I did this against M60 many years ago. Full disclosure M60 won the GC in 1945 by capturing my entire SS Panzer Armee and sending them to Siberia[;)]

RE: Mistake turns into a game changer for the Air War.

In WITE1 I stopped doing Axis air missions on T1 very early on. Posted several times. Just some recce. I think it also screws up the Soviet supply system as the Red Air Force demands supply.

RE: What is so bad (for Germany) about activating the southern front?

Thx for the posts. To be clear, is your preferred strategy NOT to activate/release the Southern Front on T1 ? Is that what you mean my "locking down" ? Or do you mean something different ?

Sudden Death VC - Fake or Real

Does this drive historical outcomes at the expense of sophisticated game play? A map showing just how much or how little a Soviet player who kept Leningrad and Moscow would need to lose in the south ( to trigger SD) would be helpful.

RE: Captured cities should be immediate supply depots

<t> I am a horrible evil person when playing the Axis. I don't crush pockets until everyone is starved to death as there is no mechanism in the game for all that historically captured infrastructure and people to actually 'make things' for me. They will all regrow to become enemies or partisans or s...

RE: Axis players guide.

<t> Interesting - has the Air Logistics changed that much? I stopped all T1 air base bombing as Axis long ago - an exploit to be sure - as all the surviving junk destroyed the Soviet logistics and pilots while mooning my air experience in T2 plus. My ground campaign was average but I had players qui...

RE: German High Water Mark

<t> Good point. At worst this an improvement on the " Turn One - the first steps in my strategy for a marginal victory in 1946". At best it is a plan to seize territory that might be dependable if one is not going for sudden death. <br/> In one WITE 1 game player v player I took Kirov and stuff and ...

First Winter Effects

<t> I Read the rules/AAR etc. but is a an short encapsulation ( by testers ) available of what the First Winter rules mean in terms of effects on Play ? In WITE1 this whipsawed from devastating to not so bad then back and forth. I'm looking for a " You can expect to be forced back 6 hexes on a 15 he...

<t> I had never heard of the SEC Regt paradrop tactic and I thought I had seen everything! I gave up ever attempting paradrops as Ger or Rus almost immediately and never looked back. <br/> <br/> My evil game the WITE1 techniques were limited to NOT attacking the Red AF on T1 and starving western Rus...

<t> That is a neat idea. Are you able to research the perhaps now declassified or public deliberations of the Finnish government ? <r> Yes, it is more of a play balance tool, and essentially all the previous posts are correct. Perhaps in future there can be increased degradation of Axis capacity of truck, supply, medical recovery, a defensive bonus with with high casualty penalties but ability to hold the line but look like cra...

Partisans

<t> I have been playing a few games to 1945 with the Soviets at 125 in all stats. In my latest one as soon as I my FBD to Cherkassy, partisans cut the rail line every turn from 11-17 inclusive. The damage was extensive such that auto repair bots could not repair it. I always fully garrison immediate...
