basic strategy for a noobie

<t> It has been awhile since I have played a land based wargame(more of a naval guy). Anyhow, back in the day when I was playing Third Reich, I think the general strategy was to get a breakthrough in the front lines move your armor through- surround the enemy and attack from all sides and, also brea...

getting in to action quickly

I am new to the game and trying to figure out the fastest way to get into action as infantry. I think I want to find a mobile spawn site? So do I go from brigade to brigade, looking to see if mobile spawn is available?

RE: Loggin on

<t> Huh? <br/> The ad on Matrix's website the game says the game includes...<br/> <br/> '* One activation key for 30 days of FREE play - a US $19.99 value!'<br/> <br/> Am I missing something, or is this line a little misleading?<br/> <br/> Thanks for your response though.<br/> Barring any additional...

RE: Finding the perfect bases

<t> I don't have answers to the question of best bases, but thought I would chime in. THis is my first game and I am playing as U.S.. I had to bypass Wake (it had 180,000 men on it). Went south -towards eniewok (i know i spelled that wrong) took a base and am now in the process of fortifying Guam. I...

wierd supply route

<t> Has this happenned to anyone else? I set a supply TF from Mare to Guam (one way-the TF will then use Guam as the home base.)<br/> When I look at the route plotted it does not look to be even close to the most direct way to get to Guam. dipped down to the Gilberts if i recall correctly.)<br/> I h...

RE: Loggin on

thanks for the response.

(although Matrix's add says a 30 trial is included, I will probably follow the thread which seems to refer to a 14 day trial)

Loggin on

<t> OK, this should not be this hard. I downloaded the game and installed it. when I run it I am asked for a username and password. when I start guessing and click on 'free trial and promotions' only one option (30 trial) is appropriate, yet no friend gave the the trial subsription.<br/> <br/> <br/>...

RE: The Next War boardgame

<t> Thanks for your response. <br/> <br/> Yes, this is the game to which I was referring. ‘The Next War’, like ‘War in the Pacific’ was one of those monster board wargames that I could not resist purchasing. However, because of the time demands of the game, I never got into either game as much as I ...

The Next War boardgame

This has probably been asked before, but has there ever been any talk of redoing the board wargame called 'The Next War' for the PC?

fatal error 771

I have been running the latest (1.2) version of the game for about a wek or so. all of a sudden when I try to run the game I get 'Fatal Error 771'. I don't believe I have changed the parameters of my machine. I will try reloading the game but wondered if you had any ideas.

RE: how far into a game are you

<t> Have started my very first game of WPO after failing to master WITP. (I am sure I will come back to it though). I am too impatient to take one of the smaller scenarios and jumped right in to the 1922 game as the U.S. It is march of ‘23’ and I have not taken anything yet. I had a division at Midw...

tutorial problem: program crash

I am working through the tutorial and have saved the game up to the completion of the Japanese turn. I found that when I created an american carrier task and clicked on a CV in order to check an air group the program threw me out of the game and back to the opening screen.

RE: Disk do not work

<t> I have the same problem with War in the Pacific. The download did not work so I figured I would simply install the CD when it came. I enter the serial number when it says to do so and the serial ID comes back as invalid!!<br/> <br/> this is simply unacceptable. particularly given what they are c...
