UI suggestion

I do appreciate the UI tweaks by berto. For example the option to have the damage results window in the centre of the screen really does facilitate gameplay.

One other tweak would also be appreciated if it is possible to implement. Currently the unit handbook window has long lists of parameters and ...

What a gem !

I was initially tentative about getting this game ( due to what I regard as unappealing 3D graphics). However I like playing with 2D NATO counters and when I saw the the 2D map screens were good I decided to give it a go.

After about 50 hours of play I am gobsmacked. This is a brilliant game ...

Re: Reserves

Sorry Jango I don't. Playing a new game now.

Not really concerned about being whacked by the AI (on challenging) in the last game. Good to play a game where the AI can be challenging.

I was more interested in the viability of deploying reserves at the Army or Corps level.

Re: Reserves

Yes the Soviet breakthroughs came in January 1942 so I should have planned for reserves then.

Re: Reserves

Thanks Veterin.

No I don't have a screen shot as I have started a new game. Anyway it would be embarrassing to post evidence of my defensive ineptitude :-)

I am aware of the checkerboard defence tactic, but it is interesting that you don't see the need for defensive reserves. Maybe I am too ...

Reserves

Playing a campaign game as Axis vs AI I just got my butt kicked by the Soviets.

As the Soviets broke through my lines I found it very difficult to stop them as I had few reserves behind the lines. The main reason for this is that the front lines were so vast I needed almost every unit for the front ...

DLC problem

<t> Hi,
I just purchased and downloaded the Red Tide DLC.

However when I tried to add the DLC to my game I get the following message " setup has detected that you you do not have v1.04..114733 " and it requests that I get the latest version of the game. I am not able to add the ...

RE: Bottlenecks overlay

Many thanks for this excellent explanation.

Why are some of these numbers in parentheses ? Do the brackets signify anything ?

RE: Thanks to all involved in making such a great game

<t> Yes this is a great game. And with each patch it gets even better.

Definitely the best game I have ever played.

WITPAE is also very good. Not so great for solo play though. I played PBEM for several years and really enjoyed it. But WITE2 is far superior for solo play ...

Damaged AFVs

<t> I notice that Panzer Divisions quickly rack up lots of damaged AFVs due to moving and fighting.

What are the most important factors that influence how quickly these vehicles are repaired ?

I'm guessing that being in refit mode and in good supply are important. Are ...

Thanks guys. Very helpful.
And yes Loki the main challenge seems to be the placement of air groups. But this is also an interesting mini game in itself.
I will start my next game without AI air assist. Time to explore all of the subtleties of this wonderful game ...
