Re: Commander Napoleon At War 1805 Expanded Mod

Hello, I definitely don't have this base mod but I might have my evolution of it on my old PC. I'll see if I can find it and if so, I'll ping you for a way to send it. No guarantees as it's been years since I've actually played.

I did try and put it on my new PC last year but it looks and played ...

Re: Need some help with 1.058

Yep, that was it! It installs now, thanks!

I looked and looked for that registry key but never thought to look in the 'wow' key lol.

Thanks again!

Re: Need some help with 1.058

Hi thanks for the input. I tried that and it still doesn't work. :(

As far as I know, I have deleted every reference to the game (old version) on the PC. Are there registry entries or something that need to be deleted? Other than that, I can't see any other place where I could find/delete anything.

Need some help with 1.058

Hello, long time player but I have been away from it for a while. I had the 1040 version installed on my PC. When I saw 1058, I decided to give it a go. When I ran the installer, it said I had the old version and it needed to be uninstalled. I clicked the Uninstall button and it ran through and ...

RE: Modding

<t> Its not a bad game out of the box, just extremely limited. It could have benefited greatly from some solid playtesting and tweaking. But it appears to be a dead project at this point. Even the original Kickstarter board game it was supposed be based on was abandoned and 're-imagined' into a much ...

RE: Commander Napoleon At War 1805 Expanded Mod

For anyone else having the same issue, I've narrowed it down to the number of open applications which interfere with CNAW working.

For example, if I close out Steam and any browsers, I typically don't have any problem running CNAW. Also, running it without music seems to help.

RE: Commander Napoleon At War 1805 Expanded Mod

Annnnnd now all of a sudden it works again...

I made no changes to my system or to the way I launch the game...just decided to fire it up again and it suddenly worked.

So, I figure I'll play it while I can. ;)

RE: Commander Napoleon At War 1805 Expanded Mod

<t> Thanks for the response. I deleted/renamed everything related to the game and did a fresh install. I was able to launch the base game, but once I updated to 1.06, it didn't launch anymore (same Out of Memory Java error).<br/>
<br/>
Not sure what the problem is. It used to work on this same PC ...

RE: Commander Napoleon At War 1805 Expanded Mod

<t> Hmmm, I can't even get the game to RUN anymore. I keep getting a Java Out of Memory error trying to load (even re-installed without mods). <br/>
<br/>
Has anyone had that issue before and been able to resolve it? I miss playing this game and it seems like it's not broken for everyone so it ...

RE: Longevity

Judging the update concerning the Kickstarter board game conversion, it looks like this design has more or less been scrapped. So I definitely would not hold my breath for any upcoming changes to the game.

RE: Longevity

<t> Nimrod, interestingly, the game that V&G draws its ancestry from is Napoleon in Europe which was an evolution of the Glenn Drover's Civil War game "The American Civil War". The latter game was not well received but was a lot of fun if you polished the rough edges a bit. NiE was basically the ...

And don't get me wrong about V&G. I enjoyed it very much the first few games I played (and the first few after the 1.1 patch). But after that, not much feels ...

RE: Even the kickstarter board game version has no new updates.

<t> There was an update to the KS on 7/20 but it looks like the board game is going to be going a different direction than the PC game (whole new mechanics from what I read). I'm not sure what that means for the PC game (retrofitted to the new mechanics or abandoned) but there certainly hasn't been ...

RE: So where does it go from here?

Well, a full month later and no response and no activity on the forum at all. I guess that can be telling in and of itself?

I guess at this point we are just waiting for the potential DLC?

RE: So where does it go from here?

<t> Yes, later in the game the pickings are fairly slim but I tend to preserve my top units and added to the ones that get ‘promoted’, I can usually maintain 3 doomstacks with very powerful units (one led by Napoleon, one lead by Davout, and one lead by the next best leader I can find).<br/>

So where does it go from here?

<r> Ok, so now that 1.1 is official launched, would it be possible to shed some light on the near-future continued development (if any)?<br/>
<br/>
I know there is pressure to get the game ‘rules complete’ in order to deliver the board game for the KS campaign but I feel that the system won’t ...

RE: British & mulit-player

Well in theory the game was designed from the ground up as a Multiplayer game (the board game version) so I imagine it has been tested for some sort of balance if played as the Brits.

RE: Public Beta for Matrix Version

Well I mean the patch has been out for almost 2 weeks and there has been very little communication since. I (and a few others) who have Steam have tried the patch and provided feedback. Since then we really haven't seen anything in reply.
