Tech improvement questions

<t> I'm looking for advice on how to calculate combat possibilities considering tech improvements. I am unsure how much of an advantage/disadvantage I have when my unit type is at a different tech level than opposing unit types. Some tech improvements seem to give more modifiers or whatever, but ...

Naval movement and supply question

<t> I have some questions about naval movement, as I've had a little trouble. The manual states that if a naval unit is in supply at the beginning of its turn, then it is supplied for the whole turn. So does this mean that multiple moves, i.e. 2 or more map spaces, will draw the extra supply from ...

demo?

<t> Is there a demo for this game? Haven't found one on the site. I loved Football Pro when it was out, especially the play design. This game looks similar. Although the idea of deciding field length and "where the goal posts are" seems like too much fantasy for me. Can anyone compare fbpro and ...

supply/transport advice

<t> In using advanced supply and auto supply, I am having issues as Japan in using my transports. I may have figured it out and am asking for advice here. Is the best process to move transports first and then move units? If auto supply is on many transports get stuck in their place cuz they moved ...

RE: Greece and Norway

Thanks for the confirmation. I've been taking them playing the AI every time but it didn't seem necessary. I guess I was doing it simply because it was done historically.

Greece and Norway

Do Greece and Norway warrant the time and cost to invade and garrison? Any experienced PBEM players ignore either or both of these territories?

patch

What am I missing? The only patch I can download is v1.040. People are posting about v1.070. I registered my game and it shows up when I log in. In the downloads section there is a v1.071 beta but it is just text, no link to actually download it.

Online rules

<t> If I want to pbem, what rules should I expect? I've only played AI so far and would like to make sure I understand the mechanics of some of the rules before playing them against a human. Specifically, the supply rules... Advanced supply? Auto supply or not? How bout fog of war? I'm just looking ...

Single player German, first full campaign

<r> This is a recap of my first full campaign as Germany, 1940, standard supply. I understand that I’m probably cheating myself by using standard supply but I wanted to get a better grip on the mechanics of the game before moving past that.<br/>

RE: Amphibious Assaults

<t> Loading on transports is just an A&A thing. Unless you have some mathematical way you are preserving strat move points along a chain of transports I don't see the point. But I did try this myself because I was having trouble doing amphib assaults as well. The reasoning was "maybe if my trannie ...

Thanks for the responses. I'll look closer at the highlighted units. This is something I was not aware of. That is why these forums are helpful!

attack odds misleading

<t> I've been playing KP for awhile and have read the manual a couple times. I still have a problem with the attack odds. I routinely find that the computer shows hexes as having a 10-1+ possible but I can't find a way to get those odds. I'll even have all my combat units moved for the turn to where ...

RE: Building Bridges - Eindhoven: Para Rescue

<t> I can't say which scenarios, but I have constructed bridges before. So it is possible in the longer scenarios to construct them, but I think your other point about it even being useful is what matters. By the time the bridge was constructed there was no time to take advantage. All the relevant ...

RE: movement tips

<t> Wow, thanks for all that advice... I think I'll try coy or bn level orders to cross the bridges and experiment with different formations. But I could leave the rest of the bde on the near bank of the river to provide covering fire, at least I assume if they were sitting there in defend mode and ...

movement tips

<t> I'm looking for input from other players on what formations, frontage, depth, etc. used when putting an attack in across a bridge. Specifically, take Nijmegan for example, if you have a full regiment you want to have attack from the South across one of the two bridges heading North, would you ...
