RE: need older version to update

<t> Thanks for the help but I'm still having problems. I've uninstalled and tried to download 1.10 from the members area. It says I can't use it because the game isn't there (anymore). I've got my order number and stuff. if you could give me a link to where you think I should be going I'd appreciate ...

need older version to update

<t> Hello,<br/>
I've been away from this game for quite awhile and just tried to update to 1.11 but ran into trouble. I'm being told my version is too old to update. That doesn't suprise me as it's been a long time. My version is 1.04 build 554. How can I update to the current build?<br/>

RE: one issue, one question

<t> I actually "fixed" it by randomly clicking on the loading graphic. Once I did that it loaded properly.<br/>
<br/>
How about the scoring question? When I compare my a/c vs the GAF I get something like 3.25:1 yet my AS is 2. I couldn't find specifics in the manual and<br/>
and I don't have a ...

one issue, one question

<t> Hello all;<br/>

to change my computer. Any idea on how to fix this?<br/>
My game question is How are the scores for AS and Industrial damage calculated? I ...

US heavies return to target

<t> Hello all,<br/>
I'm playing the Grand campaign as the allies and I've noticed something weird. Several times I've sent my B-17's and/or B-24's against targets in both the ETO or MTO only to watch them hit the target egress and, somewhere on the way back home, turn around and head BACK towards ...

RE: WITP or WITP:AE

To me it is the difference between a P-51D and a P-40: both do the same job but one does it WAAAAAAY better than the other.

RE: Dynamic, Persistent Campaign

<t> I, for one, would love something like this. I sometimes go "all in " when playing a scenario instead of worrying about having enough assets for the next battle. There are victories and there are pryyhic victories and a campaign game would make a player chose which he was going for. Do you throw ...

RE: Kamikaze make up

<t> So in AE, at least, the use of multi-engine/multi-crew aircraft is not "historical". I've had about a dozen ships hit so far and everyone has been by either a bomber (Betty, Helen, etc) or flying boat (Mavis or Emily). In fact, the only single engine planes I've seen make suicide attacks are ...

Kamikaze make up

<t> My forces are getting their first taste of Kamikaze attacks and it got me thinking. The given image in most people's mind is of a single determined pilot in his fighter going hell-bent-for-leather through flak and fighters to crash himself into an Allied ship. I'm cool with that. What I want to ...

RE: SPWaW vs winSPWW2

One diff is in winSP the computer does all the defensive shooting. You have no control other than limiting the engagement range. So if a unit of yours sees a target it will shoot regardless of whether you'd want it to or not. That's my only "beef".

<t> I would recommend:<br/>
Last Stand of the Tin Can Sailors (Battle of Samar/Leyte) by Hornfischer<br/>
Rising Sun by Toland (Pacific war from, mostly, the Japanese side<br/>
Silent Victory by Blair (Almost everything you'd want to know about the US sub war)<br/>

RE: WITP-AE vs. Other WITP

<t> You never have to worry about the Paw of Cat knocking your dozens of counters all over the Pacific. Or Fist of Child, or Wrath of Spouce for taking up the dining room table for two years. I am a dice and counter guy myself but the shear scope of this game makes WitP-AE a much better choice. It's ...

RE: Semi OT: New Izumo is launched...

<t> At the time the A-Bomb was just another weapon, it wasn't considered to be anything more than a really, really big bomb. I fully understand how the use if one NOW would be an escalation of almost any conflict but THEN it was just the newest arrow in the quiver. I just take umbrage at the writer ...

How, exactly, did the US "escalate" the war by dropping A-Bombs?
