won't start

The game doesn't start consistently. I get "not responding" in the Task Manager. Running XP. I also loaded it on my laptop, and same thing.

Even in compatibility with Windows 95, same problem. Won't run in any other compatibility.

RE: Using Miniatures?

I've used the game to play a campaign, as the campaign map, and miniatures to play the battles. It works quite well.

RE: CLGA volume 2

Please, leave it in. That's the major reason for a lot of fans of the game to play. It generates miniatures games.

RE: Beginner's Questions

<t> Thank you all. I downloaded the "Sample Setup" from Mods & Scenarios, and I'm going to try a few practice turns with that. <br/> &nbsp;<br/> As for the miniatures play, I'll try to get a miniatures battle going at my local club based on the sample EIANW game, and let you know how it work...

Beginner's Questions

<t> Hi,<br/> I have a few questions that are not answered by the game manual, at least I don't think so. The manual is pretty dismal, IMHO, but that isn't anybody's fault, seeing as this game was not programmed or created by English Composition majors/students. (I hope I'm not offending anyone [:)] ...

Moving game to my Mac

<t> Hello:<br/> <br/> I want to install the game on my Macbook running Windows (Bootcamp) to facilitate a campaign game with miniatures at the hobby shop I go to. I bought the game as a download. Can I put the downloaded compressed file on a disk, put it into the Mac running Windows, and install the...

RE: Special Limited Time Offer to Upgrade 'For Liberty!'

<t> Hi,<br/> <br/> I owned the old Battlefront For Liberty. I just got the new serial number, downloaded the new game, installed it, and uninstalled and cleaned up all old registry files for the BF game.<br/> <br/> However, when i go to play For Liberty (Matrix folder version) I find that the main m...

RE: CLGA volume 2

<t> I just want to say, I bought 1805-1809 two days ago and I love the system. I am a miniatures player, and as soon as I can master the elements of supply, I'm going to try a campaign with battles fought with miniatures. A fantastic system, a great stand-alone game, too. It looks like the next game...

RE: HPS Bad

<t> I have no problem with what was described - a small unit taking 50% casualties and standing. So many strange things happen in war, that chaotic results such as this are merely examples of courage, dumb stubbornness, or the "band of brothers" syndrome, if you will. Part of the fun of the games is...

RE: Third Party Combat and Miniatures

<t> Hi,<br/> I haven't finished reading all the posts, but wanted to share an idea I had, which is to use a 3x5 note card for each division, and have some standardized divisions. In 1805, a 5-factor division to represent St. Hilaire's division of 4 line and one legere regiment. Of course, by the tim...

RE: OOB

<t> Thank you. As I am looking for a strategic game (that I don't have to keep up on the dining room table) to generate miniatures battles, the corps organization is not such a problem for me. I'm going to read more posts and threads and see if that's doable. <br/> <br/> Thank you for your response....

RE: OOB

<t> Pardon me for jumping in with a question: I ask because I'm thinking of purchasing EiANW. What was EiH? I mean, what does it stand for, and was it a computer game or a board game? EiA I have played as a board game, so I think I know what you're referring to there. <br/> <br/> And, do you mean th...

RE: Where is my infantry?

That sounds like a good idea. I had a feeling it would not be an easy fix. Another brainstorming idea is to prohibit construction of depots in extreme & high mountain regions.

RE: Where is my infantry?

<t> I am a little bothered by Austria (the AI, that is) always invading France through Switzerland, from a huge base in the Tyrol, the Alps! <br/> <br/> I'm bothered because the road net in the Alps and in Switzerland was rather limited, as were the resources to support depots in the Tyrol. The only...

Questions

<t> I've gone through the manual (which I printed on the back of some used paper and put into plastic sheet holders in a binder) a few times, but life is short and I can't find what I need, so here I am asking on line. <br/> <br/> First, how do I transfer infantry from one division to another, as su...

Toggle "Broken" trade agreement

While experimenting with trade, I hit the toggle button on the trade screen, which swithced the Active trade agreement to "Broken." I hit it again, to toggle it back, but it would not change. I hit Cancel and the screen closed, but when I reopened it, the "Broken" was still there.
