RE: Ok, so I have the basics worked out...

Nah, screw this. MW4: Mercs is only $20, and I can't imagine it's going to feature my 'mech crashing every three steps because "not tripping over your own feet like a goddamn moron" is some sort of advanced skill that only Jedi Master pilots know. Bye.

RE: Ok, so I have the basics worked out...

<t> Tried the first Deep Core mission. Everything was fine until I decided to use jump jets to cross some water. Jesus Christ, I've really had enough of my guys being thwarted by things like a shallow stream or their own jets. Can I please put my goddamn Titans on some tank treads so they don't land ...

Ok, so I have the basics worked out...

<t> I have a squad of three green jocks in light titans all set that can stay on its feet, and sometimes even hit what it's aiming at. What's the best way for a guy to make money when his strategy has yet to advance beyond the "stand real close and blast away" stage?<br/>

Can we be so sure about that? The US home front historically became brittle a few times after WWII. Tet offensive and My Lai were devastating for public opinion, a nasty ambush on rangers in Somalia led to an accelerated US withdrawal, US ...

RE: How do I draft a squad that isn't incompetent?

<t> The latest patch doesn't seem to be available. The link to it on the VB site is dead. Think I'll just wait for it to come back before I get into this again. As it is, I push my guys Recon/Light skill as high as possible, and they still can't cross anything but totally flat earth without falling ...

RE: Given historical production levels, how does Japan ever win?

Very interesting, and a good compromise as far as remaining realistic yet giving the Japan player something to accomplish.

Given historical production levels, how does Japan ever win?

<r> First, my source in this matter:<br/>

Does the game simulate this realistically? If so, how does a guy playing Japan ever avoid a late-war drubbing? Also, can the atomic bomb ...

How do I draft a squad that isn't incompetent?

<t> First off, it seems character stats aren't really random. They're just spit out using a formula that starts with the character name. Meaning that I can't just reroll to get a combination of name and stats that I like. A character with Name X will always come out with the same stats no matter how ...
