D/l the map by logging into the members area, then go to my games and private downloads.  A jpg and pdf are there.

The map downloaded fine for me, but I think he's talking about the merchandise link.  That one doesn't load for me either right now.

Grant as unit commander also subjects Grant to enemy fire&nbsp;[:-]&nbsp; Lose him and you'll be in a world of hurt.

RE: Kentucky Neutrality

<t> I used to move into KY asap as USA, but the last 2 games I've waited some to try and avoid KY turning CSA state.&nbsp; KY only CSA aligned and not a full CSA state means not having to garrison the regions which frees up a lot of troops.&nbsp; <br/>

RE: Any Union player ever manage to capture New Orleans?

<t> Yeah, you need an AC and depot down there if you want to make progress after taking the forts.&nbsp; I've gotten into the habit of using 3 ACs in the West as USA 61-63 or so.&nbsp; Grant going down the river, Buell (or whoever has better stats) going through KY/TN to Knoxville/Chattanooga, and ...

RE: How do you keep the game from bogging down into WW1?

<t> Yeah I know it's in the game, I use pinning attacks all the time (and I dare say if you don't use them as the Union you have no chance of winning), but every attack seems to be an all out assault.&nbsp; Sometimes I want a general to push forward into enemy pickets to hold that force, not assault ...

RE: How do you keep the game from bogging down into WW1?

<t> All very interesting ideas that should merit at least some consideration I would think.&nbsp; I like the idea of not being able to count on reaction moving 100% of the time for defense, and coming up with something to make soak off/feints/holding/pinning/or whatever you want to call them attacks ...

RE: How do you keep the game from bogging down into WW1?

<t> One of the things that gets lost is that the battles aren't necessarily a single battle. Perhaps I'm way off on this, but I view them as a serious of engagements over the course of a month. I don't have too much of a problem with reaction moves when battles are viewed in that context because ...

RE: QUESTION ABOUT DEPOTS?

Like you said, I get rid of depots in rear areas as the front line advances.&nbsp; They don't seem to serve any purpose anymore, so you might as well free up the supplies.

RE: New player observations.

<t> I would echo too much artillery.&nbsp; 300+ guns per fighting force on both sides was rather common in my last game. <br/>
<br/>
I'm not too sure on the heavy guns vs fleets though.&nbsp; As CSA I would have agreed the guns didn't do enough, but as USA heavy guns can keep me at bay so I couldn ...
