RE: Capturing Supplies

<t> I think by saying gamey-ness, oleg means that tactics of capturing supplies might become a sole purpose for attacking operations. Conceivably, the game could turn into one where one side was continually producing supply(and expending its production) while the other was continually 'stealing ...

Turn based games are extremely well suited for pbem play though - and personally I love playing this game pbem as I can take 5 mins for an easy turn and consider a hard turn for hours sometimes seeing it in the morning and considering it ...

Thoughts on future game designs

<r> Just wanted to say thanks again to the guys at 2by3. I think it's great that you're still working on patches/improvements for this game (which was already pretty well done to begin with).<br/>

I know you're working on a tcp/ip version of the game and had some thoughts on it, hopefully ...

RE: Repair by G in W44

I believe it takes a full turn before those repairs are considered for the production phase. ie, if you repair in Sp41, those factories will be functional for the production phase of Su41. i believe damaged factories don't produce anything until they are fully repaired...

number artifacts

Does anyone else see flashing number artifacts when the mouseover some units since 1.40? The number usually start with a 1, are 7 or maybe 8 characters long and they fl;icker usually as you mouseover a unit.

RE: fog of war

fog of war doesnt disguise research levels above a full point. Fog of war also doesnt mask units on the board, so if you start a game and the germans have an abnormal number of units, or an abnormal research level, you can catch them right there.

RE: Axis AV

<t> not necessarily...actually japan has to be very careful. Her source of supply is centralized. If that big japanese fleet is far off, they wont have the supply necessary to return to combat the US ships blockading. Ditto the airforce, which will likely be in offensive positions far removed from ...

RE: Soviet shipyards

US is frozen pending japanese attack,

japan attacks/invades hawaii and the ships all flee to WC USA.

Japan then sends 2 carriers to support attacks/invasion of WC usa(same turn), succeeds, and all ships destroyed.

I have a save if you want it.

And I might add the that I dislike the intensity in this game when playing the Axis. I feel like the Axis have to play perfectly, follow a particular "recipe for victory," and if they do this, they can't lose.

dont suppose you could put in a quick fix so that the us pacific fleet retreats to the east coast if hawaii is unavailable (instead of being destroyed)?

<t> I think a good compromise in the case where a port area is attacked:<br/>
