RE: Ok I will say it..CHINA

<t> I've stared at that mess for hours trying to figure out the "logic" employed by the genius that permitted the land situation that existed in China prior to Dec 7, '41 to come about in the first place. Finally, late one night, I sat back and...it came to me.<br/>

Renaming Units in WIR

<t> I've re-installed this game after many years. I seem to recall that there was a command that allowed the player to rename his units. This is not simply the "change corps" option, but a way for the player to input his own name. I stumbled across this feature once, but it is either undocumented or ...

Static LCUs

<t> I have only recently started working with the scenario editor and database editor (just downloaded v.6), and I can't figure out how to make an LCU "static". I've read the manual, but unless I missed something, it doesn't specifically address this point. How do you do this?<br/>

Trouble with install of Andrew Brown's map mod

<t> I have attempted to follow the instructions faithfully, and have installed Andrew Brown's map mods v6.2 (both standard and extended versions). When I attempt to load one of them using the modselect utility he supplied, the map files seem to load fine. But when the utility tries to load the ...

RE: Can You ID the Sub

I grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, and I remember touring the U-505 at the Museum of Science and Industry. IIRC this was the first "prize of war" captured by the US Navy since the War of 1812.

Thanks. I'm not exactly happy that my BF's won't ever grow, but at least I know now how to nurse them back to health if they get shot up.

RE: ENG units & TOE

<t> I thought that the manual was somewhat confusing on this point; that's why I asked. The way I read it, Feinder's response was the way BF upgrades worked--only the computer player got them, and it was a function of the size of the airfield at the base in question. Which seems rather unfair, if ...

ENG units & TOE

<t> Only up to mid-March '42 in my game against the AI, and I have a question. Do the TOEs of ENG units ever change (i.e., increase)? I am especially interested to know if this happens with respect to the aviation support available in a base force unit. As it is, I have a bunch of ENG units with 30 ...

Mining ports

<t> Hello to all.<br/>
<br/>
I'm a relatively new player (Allied), although I did own Pacific War way back when. Anyway, I'm still feeling my way around the mechanics of this game, and I have a question about laying mines in friendly port hexes. I've tried to do this several times, with MLs and ...
