When reading historical accounts of battles you often see OOBs say 36 guns or 50 guns at a certain battle. In game terms, arty divisions have a maximum of 1500 (or 3000 if you have the upgrade) soldiers. How many soldiers correspond to one gun? Thanks.

Strongly believe that you should at least get control over your troops. Ideally you should be given the option to refuse participation - bickering among allies was all too common!

I have been told that it is, but a graphics whiz would have to do it. The devs have a lot of programming to do, so this isn't high on the priority list.

Haha, quite amusing to play I must say. You can win battles by constantly altering the landscape to force the enemy to run around and round.

This is true historically, but it still makes defending Finland from the Russians pretty much impossible. I can use the Swedish fleet to try to build and defend a depot at sea but the Russian navy is far superior to the Swedish one....

I think that's right but I'll leave it to someone more in the know to make a definitive statement. I have a question about what a conquered province is. Is Lorraine a "conquered province" for France because it has a little flag? It ought to be a national province.

Yea it's quite odd, keep pressing it and you can sometimes get your troops standing on water or on impassable mountains. Makes those troops impervious to cav charges. I wonder what the defensive bonus or malus for standing on water is! I'll post a screenshot when I get home.
