RE: And more questions...

One trick I just started using more is when you move one brigade with a general that adds movement, if you still have 2 left, you can transfer the general to the next unit in the division and then they get the bonus as well. Very useful when trying to catch prisoners.

Cav. Leadership only affects Cav. Charges, I think, so really, you don't need them. I like generals with nice move bonus, and combat bonus.<br/>

RE: Multiple Units?

Heh heh,

I love the list of units hard sarge captured. I like to get those too. Especially Berdan's Sharpshooters. Hopefully you picked up their rifles.

RE: OT Serious Question for Gil R.

I don't understand why my Fireball Catapults keep getting hit by counter-fire from barbarian units with the tribal shaman attribute...I thought only buying the wizard attribute could make infantry counterfire indirectly?

Terje,

You disband your river boats as the CSA?

How much do you save?

RE: And why do I have ships?

If you are the south, keep your ships in port and ignore them.

Has anyone ever used them as the South?

If you are the North, creating blockade fleets is very useful, and even maybe some amphibious landings.

I didn't know Pioneers could build entrenchments. Cool.

Can Engineers?

RE: Advanced Buildings Question?

Hospitals have a range, so they need to be closer to where the troops are.
Camps don't need to be close to the front.
Manufacturing centers only help the city they are in, so build them where you plan to build stuff.

RE: Question About Money

<t> I don't buy anything but muskets and try to get better stuff off routing Yankees (you get to keep some of what they drop when they retreat in detailed combat.) Later on, when I have more money, I will but some of the better rifles, but nothing too fancy (like an Enfield!) Also, they get more ...

RE: A few suggestions for entrenchments

In my experience, one unit can only help entrench maybe 2 sides of three hexes before they are exhausted and can no longer do this.

And I just had the AI do some surprise attacks in Fredericksburg just to get around this problem.

RE: Super-cannons be gone!

But even if they have the brigade artillery, which are 6 pounders, how do they counter-fire INDIRECT fire with those weapons?

Also, how can it be that sometimes units can fire behind the lines at my supply caissons, etc.?

RE: Spencer Rifles

<t> It is something I have noticed, but I would say its anecdotal. If no one else is seeing that, it might just be random. This game the Union consistently lands at New Orleans, besieges until I kick them out, then they come again. Its a pain in the rear (ha) for me to keep heading down there to do ...
