BUG: City Attack - Aviation Support

Post by treespider »

I also posted this in the Support area...

I was playing with the Tutorial v1.602-Head to Head, Replacements turned Off.

As Japanese I stood all of my aircraft down with the exception of the Level Bombers in Guam. I set these to City Attack - Target: Satawal - Aviation Support.

As Allied player I rebased B-29's to Enwietok, and form MSW into TF dest Enw. The only thing left in the hex is the CD unit and the Engineer - Aviataion support 128

FIRST ANNOYANCE: The aircraft would not fly without enough pilots for Ready aircraft. I know this has been documented.

BUG: Combat report would indicate 1-5 Aviation Support hits when the Japanese are flying at an altitude of 15,000 feet. However when I checked the hex as the Allied Side Aviation support would sometimes increase one or two points. Remember Replacements are turned off.

I then set Japanese A/C to Altitude 6,000 and inflict 11 Aviation Support hits. Check the hex and Aviation Support increased 1 point. And again remember Replacements are turned off.

As the Japanese when I would hover the cursor over the hex it would indicate a reduction in Aviation support.

Am I missing something?

I was playing Head to Head. How could the Allied Aviation Support increase with replacements turned off if the Japanese were attacking it?

Just ran the test again....set Japanese A/c to 10,000 feet.
Fog of War is Off
Replacements are Off

When I hover cursor over Satawl as Japanese it indticates Aviation Support as 250x0.

As Allied player the Engineer Unit has 128 Aviation Support

Run the Attack and inflict 1 Aviation Support hit

Hover over the hex as Japanese... Aviation Support reads 244x(6)

Look at the unit as Allied and Aviation Support has increased to 130.

How many other subroutines are not working correctly? [Edit] That was a bit harsh...but still...

Just ran a City Attack -Support as opposed to City Attack - Avaition Support.

Inflicted 5 support hits

As Japanese I hover over the hex and indicated support is 100 x 0 prior to attack 92x(8) post attack.

Actual Support in the hex was 160. Engineer had (40)x60 and the cd unit (0)x100. Post attack Engineer was (36)x64 and cd unit (0)x100.

Remember Fog of War is Off and Replacements are Off.

MichaelM suggested I'm not accounting for repair in the Support forum...Howver after a dozen or son turns I drove the hover over info the Japanese get to something like 70x(180) yet when i get to the Allied side the unit still sits at 130 and replacements are off and fog of war is off.
