Questions on movement and readiness

Post by hjaco »

Hi,

Finally i am really getting grip on some of the more hard details of the game, but i hope someone can help me on the following:

1) I know there is a +1 cost in readiness to cross a river, but is there additional cost penalties entering other terrain than clear or is this random ?

2) I assume the basic cost in readiness for maneuvering is 1 ?

3) Is it correct, that using strategic movement is "free of charge" in relation to cost in readiness ?

4) Is over stacking causing loss in readiness ?

5) Does being barraged cost readiness i.e. before combat ?

6) Gaining readiness for resting is that a random factor and/or does supply affect this factor ? I assume, it is better to rest in full supply than not !

7) Regarding carrying out movement orders, does quality affect in what order that happens ?

8) Same regarding readiness or supply status in hex ?

9) same with being barraged before movement ?

10) Same with different types of terrain ?

Thx in advance for replies.

1) I know there is a +1 cost in readiness to cross a river, but is there additional cost penalties entering other terrain than clear or is this random ?

    Open terrain cost  0
    Town terrain cost  0
     Forest terrain cost  1
     Marsh terrain cost  1
     Rough terrain cost  1
     Mountain terrain cost 2
    Across a river +1

2) I assume the basic cost in readiness for maneuvering is 1 ?

Its zero
3) Is it correct, that using strategic movement is "free of charge" in relation to cost in readiness ?

Yes
4) Is over stacking causing loss in readiness ?

No

5) Does being barraged cost readiness i.e. before combat ?

Yes it can, it varies depending on the success of the bombardment

6) Gaining readiness for resting is that a random factor and/or does supply affect this factor ? I assume, it is better to rest in full supply than not !

Regaining readiness is based on a random "dice roll".  Supply and unit quality are the modifiers.

7) Regarding carrying out movement orders, does quality affect in what order that happens ?

Terrain, unit type, whether on the front and whether activated determine the order, quality is not checked here.

8) Same regarding readiness or supply status in hex ?

Quality?  No

9) same with being barraged before movement ?

No
10) Same with different types of terrain ?

Terrain is a key part of determining which units move first.

Hi Frank,

Thank you for your answers.

Regarding question 7 i need a clarification. Are we talking about the terrain which the moving units are coming from or to ?
