Trouble launching an Atomic Bomb assault!

Hi,

This screenshot is from one of my PBEM. The problem is that I'am unable to launch anykind of an assault here.

I have changed the target. Initially tried Tokyo, Osaka and Sapporo.

This bomber squadron is based on level 7 airfield.

I read the manual and didn't find anything on why these aircraft wohn't launch. The weather cannot be an factor since regular bombing missions do take off.

Yeah. I do have 1 bomb available for use. The button for the assault was greyed out before it came available.
 
I have thought about Tinian but the trouble is that Japanese hold the Marianas! [8|]

I read the manual and didn't find any mention about this. Allthough, the manual is huge so I might have missed that line.

He is not the only one I'am afraid if this is true. [:(]

I actually bypassed the Marianas and haven't looked into them since because I thought level 7 airfield would be sufficient for the strike.

"Only Tinian" is 100% incorrect, but you have to select an industrial target for the attack. Going by your screenshot, you're targeting manpower.

According to what the manual says on Atomic Bomb Attacks (7.1.1) there is no restriction to what base the attack comes from, but that a city and Industrial target must be selected. Is manpower an industrial target?

I thought I had screwed completely with Tinian. Good news that it was an false assumption.
 
I thought Manpower was an industrial target... (If I remember correctly I tried to target resources at Sapporo for a turn too) ...need to try to alter the target though.

When you do get the mission off the ground, don't expect much other than VPs.
