What do you want to do with your scenario?

You want individual squads?

Set the ammunition level for all units?

Have setup zones that allow for only infantry or tank setup areas?

Want to add individual vehicle decals, like numbers, kill rings, color or font type?

Want German, Soviet or neutral flags at start?

Want one side of the other to get graduated victory points added from a certain turn to the end of the game?

Want a lot of victory points added at a certain point in the game?

Want your Victory Locations to be worth any number that you assign it from 1 to 5000? Per location? Or in total?

Want your units to be any size from 1 through 20?

Want to have an OOB that you have to choose units from? Where you have to decide what to buy because you don't have the resources for everything on the list? Or to have it do an automatic buy if you do have enough to get everything?

Want to start your units mounted or unmounted?

Want to give each unit a specific name or designation?

Want to set the turn of reinforcements? The place of their entry? The percentage chance they will enter that turn?

Want change the map for the battle and use another map?

Want to set the battle in summer or winter?

Want to add air support to the battle? From which direction you want it to enter the battle area?

Want to add off map artillery to this scenario? And set the amount of ammunition it has to fire? Or the number of tubes in the firing unit from 1 through 20? Or the direction of it's fire by placing it on a particular map edge?

Want to set the experience level of your units?

Want to zoom the tactical map to see exactly where to place a unit?

Want to see the base terrain on the map for unit placement?

Want unit availability set by historical date of use?

Want to set the turn sequence from a variety of lengths (orders phase/reaction phase):

40:40
60:60
40:0
60:0
80:0

to suit your preferred sequence length?

You want to fix a unit in place? All of them? None of them?

Want to select Core or Key units for a campaign to track during the campaign? To have the computer assign greater experience levels or to gain other attributes during the campaign?

Want to be able to pull up an Order of Battle side by side comparison for the forces of each side in the scenario?

Want to see how the forces, points and victory conditions all add up? Does one side seem to have a distinct advantage? Is that what you want? Do you care?

You want to adjust the human players difficulty level?

Want a detailed briefing, like mine? Or an actual brief briefing?

Want to see the unit specifications for the unit you're placing in the OOB?

Because if you want any of these things in your scenarios Welcome to PCO!

Good Hunting.

Want your units to be any size from 1 through 20?

Does this allow you to create an Infantry unit with 1 to 20 men?

We don't count men in a squad in PC. You can display different numbers of soldiers on your screen though. See my other post.

Rereading this I think what MR is saying is that you can have more than 3-5 squads in a platoon of infantry and more than 3-5 AFVs in a platoon. Not sure you can go to 20 though.

It allows you to put from 1 to 20 squads in an infantry platoon. Squad sizes are based on historical TO&E's.

While PCO doesn't display the squad per man the squad is actually made up with an xml file. You can create any size squad you like with a mod that shows the relative firepower of the weapons that are employed by that squads members.

Let's say you wanted to create a recon element of 4 men all with MP-40's. The file would show four positions, each armed with an MP40 and the firepower associated with that weapon. Then the game would recognize that for losses, firepower, speed of movement and range.

So, while technically PCO doesn't use single men in the units it does.

While the representation, animation and resolution is not down to the single man the historical data for the unit is there. And that data does go down to the single man.

What I want in the scenario editor is a random map generator based on sliders I use to set the amount of trees, mountains, hills, lakes, GRASS, brush, streams, rivers, fences, buildings, roads, bridges that I choose. [:)] Something simple like Kohan II's map generator would be sufficient though.
