Surrender bug

Post by morvael »

According to the manual "For other Rumanian ground units, if Rumanian and non-Rumanian units are stacked in a hex, then the side whose units have a smaller combat value will have its units automatically disbanded" but I had stacks of 2 german infantry division with rumanian fortified region and they all got disbanded. I can't believe 2 infantry divisions with CV 3-5 was of less combat value than a fortified region.

By the way, on the same turn as Rumania surrendered, some tanks were exported there from Germany...

German turn save (with German units eliminated). Overall 13 infantry divisions and 1 panzer division was disbanded due to being stacked with Rumanian Fortified Zones, even though they had 6-8 times more men.

Maybe the program compared strength taking Germans as already isolated? Or using lower CV as they moved in their turn? The manual doesn't specify this. All in all it's rather not WAD I think, a battalion worth of troops with lower morale should surrender to two divisions with higher morale.

edit: of course the whole situation of surrender was my fault, I didn't remember that those two small towns could cause Rumanian surrender. If I would know this, I would stay on previous positions where the Soviets were not that agressive, but wanted to shorten my lines.

During Soviet turn (I managed to turn off FOW) it can be seen that the stacks of German ID and Rumanian forts are CV 5, 7 or 8 CV (offensive). Forts alone are always of CV 1. So how is the rule "whose units have a smaller combat value" supposed to work?

Don't expect an answer really fast. Not that they don't care, but they still have bigger fish to fry so to speak. Game was just released, so expect problems. Even WoW's release was full of major bugs, this is minor. Its sucks for sure, but it will get worked out at some point I am guessing.

Over all the game is very good and stable with just really minor bugs.

Good find.

I wasn't expecting a fix immediately, but according to my experience all threads in this subforum get an answer from a member of WitE team pretty fast, either acknowledging the problem or denying it.

I was staying away from this because I'm not familiar with the mentioned rule and I need more time to dig in into it. Sorry for the delay.

Just to confirm that I was able to replicate and (hopefully) fix it. Thanks for the report.
