Hotseat and other?'s

Fury Games has now signed with Matrix Games, and we are working together on the next Strategic Command. Will use the Slitherine PBEM++ server for asynchronous multi-player.

Hotseat and other?'s

Post by TheGrayMouser »

Hello, a few questions!

*hotseat?
*is the editor working on release? ( I ask due to my one true disappointment from Matrix/Slitherine, Time of Fury, whose product page boasted an editor, I bought day one and it wasnt included and "to be added".. It never was(at least a working version))
*I was checking out SC2 and appears support for 65 countries. What is the limit in SC 3?

Thanks!

Hi Gray Mouser,

Hotseat is in the initial release and fully functional and the Editor is also included. The country list is at I believe 120 countries and this time around there is no need to change the country ID numbers or reorganize your bitmap files for the major countries. There is a new option in the Editor, Campaigns->Edit Major Country IDs Data, and from there you can assign any country from the list to be a major or a minor and also select the Bitmap source folder for each major. There are currently 8 source folders, i.e. folders that have unit and graphics sprites to match the default majors, that are set to the following as these were our defaults for this release:

\Bitmaps\Major_01\ = UK
\Bitmaps\Major_02\ = France
\Bitmaps\Major_03\ = USA
\Bitmaps\Major_04\ = USSR
\Bitmaps\Major_05\ = Poland
\Bitmaps\Major_06\ = UK (in case you wanted Egypt to be a major)
\Bitmaps\Major_07\ = Germany
\Bitmaps\Major_08\ = Italy

This way you can reorder the major nations and assign which will be the first index for the Allied and Axis sides, and even more easily create custom campaigns where let's say Italy is on the Allied side and so on as there will be much less need to edit scripts in the past.

Hope this helps,
Hubert

I can confirm the editor comes with the game and is absolutely superb.[:)]

Map editor has more than enough options to keep potential modders happy.[;)]

Hi Hubert, excellent work you did with the new game. I am really impressed!! But I am disapointed about Multiplayer. Weeks? Come on that sounds cruelly in my ears.

I will get the game once PBEM++ will be ready, or at least a week before its ready, I am just planning to play one game with the AI (the first game only), I do that with almost all Matrix games.
