View menu checkboxes are erratic

The View menu checkboxes (e.g. for having place names displayed, or Sentinel map on/off) are erratic. Sometimes clicking a checkbox is not registered and I have to click twice to actually toggle it. It also seems that sometimes the checkboxes are not really in sync with the actual state of the map.

Same thing seems to happen with the LOS tool.. sometimes I cannot get rid of it as there is no checkbox

You cannot close the LOS-tool window?

I can close the window but the los tool keeps on going so that the game slow down and eventually crashes. The window itself can be closed.
