Where's this? (1)

Just a shameless plug from Bradys concept - but with satellite images of WitP related locations from maps.google.com.

So here you go, #1 (if generally accepted I might come up with some more...)

Is it genuinely regarded as the Worlds best natural harbour?

I dunno - every nice harbor i've read about is regared as that (world's best) by the locals, discoverer, or the person writing about it. Certainly Camh Ranh Bay is right up there, though.

I am not sure about that. It does sort of look like Cam Ranh, but with my atlas and Google, i think this (link below) is Cam Ranh. While it is similar, i don't think the mystery place is CRB.

EDIT: This location looks very urbanized along the shore - how about Hong Kong?

Can't check this right now... but will later.

Look a little further south

Yeah - you are right. I think mine is "Vung Van Phong" (in Britannica Atlas) - which also looks like a good harbor, but i've never heard of it before.

I'm pretty certain it's CR Bay. It has the airfield in the right spot on the northern isthmus, just above the bridge.

I agree with you. You obviously know more about the place than i do - i knew there was an air base there (somewhere in CRB), but had no idea where - and wouldn't have recognized it until you pointed it out.

I don't think Saigon has an ocean port? Isn't it a river port?

Wow..that Google thing is amazing. Try looking up your own neighborhood. For mine the area image is degraded..that is either a big coincidence or Google knwos where I live.

What's that next to the Tomcats? The short stubby wings and long fuselage makes it look like an F-104...
