Installing My Games on New PC

Post by canuckgamer »

My intention is to purchase a new PC with Win 10 this year. I currently have 3 Matrix games and a number of DLCs installed on my PC running Win 7. I am also thinking of purchasing War Plan.

Will I have to request new license keys or whatever you call them to install the above on my new PC? Do I have uninstall them from my current PC first?

Do the above display at 4K as I am debating about getting a 4K monitor with my new system.

Thanks.

If you have the Matrix game downloads saved and their registration#, you're all set. Run the installer and supply the number when asked. If you don't have them saved, contact Customer Service and they will give you a new download key.

I cannot advise about 4K displays.

if you mostly play war games, then for me 4k is a waste, as while some will use the 4k size, some won't, so it all depends on the given game first, before you buy, do your research and ask on the given game forums

When I bought new PC in December of 2017, I wanted a small size monitor that fits inside a closet so I don't trip over on it while having HTC Vive covering my eyes. I asked recommendations for 4k monitor, and one offered wasn't suitable for gaming (so was written in computer magazine). Maybe store didn't have anything else for demanded size? Anyway I went with 144 Hz HD (1920*1080) monitor and it has been plenty enough.

TL;DR: With cost of a cheap 4k monitor you can have a HD monitor with better colours and higher refresh rate. In addition games run with more frames per second. That is important consideration for medium range graphic adapters, like GeForce GTX 1660 Super.
You know what they say, don't you? About how us MechWarriors are the modern knights, how warfare has become civilized now that we have to abide by conventions and rules of war. Don't believe it.

Be careful of buying things that are made for a special sale since the quality may not be there. It may also mean for certain retail outlets as well. I am thinking of things like Dots Per Inch (DPI) which then affects how well the image is seen as well as lower quality parts that won't last as long.

I'm not a complete idiot, some parts are missing! :o

If you registered the ones you have, you might be able to download from your Matrix "mypage". Go to the Matrix homepage, then find "mypage".

Most of my games have downloads there. If you haven't registered them, I would do that now.

I have all the emails with the download links and license keys but just noticed that they said the download link was only valid for 14 days so I will have to contact Matrix Games when I get my new PC.
I am also looking at a monitor with a native resolution of 2560 X 1440 so in between HD and 4K. I will only be using the monitor for gaming although I guess if I ever get a game console a 4K monitor would be required for games in 4K.
Thanks for all the replies.

You can download them from 'My Page' without having to contact Matrix.

Some new titles might work in 4K, but a lot of older ones probably won't...

Your serials will be fine.

Yeah, I think you're allowed to have your games on two computers. With one license #, because they realize people get laptops to travel, etc. Good company.
