Relocating AOGs to forward bases

I am using the auto air protocol. I have read the manual completely twice and the air portions many times. I cannot figure out how to get my (German) air force forward to new bases on a timely basis. Any help regarding how to cause the AOGs to move more quickly forward would be helpful. I have the HQs on advance and have moved the Luftwaffe HQs forward and near the front lines. Any thoughts? Also, the HQs often start out mixed mission. I change these to day only to keep fatigue at a minimum. Is this wise?

Best way is to move the AOGs manually.

Having said that, if you set your AOG stance to “advance”, they should follow the designated HQ and are usually very aggressive in moving forward. I presume you are pressing the AI Air button twice, both before the air planning phase and after the ground movement phase? As I recall from the manual, depending on the stance, the units will move on either the first or second button press.
