How do you get Soviet Reserves onto the map?

Post by Phil_Dolliff »

I have tons of units in the Soviet Reserves box but can't figure out how to deploy them onto the map.

I appreciate your help with this question.

1. Go to the MAP and look for a Hex where you want the untis to arrive. It must be a Hex at least ~10Hexes away from an enemy and it needs to contain a functioning railway.
2. rightclick the Hex and choose "Set Reserve TB Arrival Hex".
3. go to your RESERVE TB and right click a unit you want to transfer, choose MAP.
4. The units will stack to 3 and then split around the Arrival hex at/until next turn (they will usually be low on Ammo!).
5. You can move the Arrival Hex between units transferred (so you can exactly decide where your units will go!) e.g. 3 up north, 5 int he south, 7 in the center....and so on.
sdenote/tip: 6. concerning the low Ammo you can choose Depots as arrival Hex, once the units arrive you can do a single mission of a single Transport group into the Depot and the Units will get Ammo from the Depot (if it contains supplies).

Thank you so much for your reply.

When I go to the Theater Box, I get a long list of units in very small font on the left side of popup box, most of which is covered by a photo of Soviet Radio operators.

When I try to right click on one of the units in the Soviet Reserve Section nothing happens. Am I in the wrong place?

See this box in the lower-left part of your screen? Click on the "R". That will take you to the Reserve Box

You can also get there by clicking "c" to get the Command report, then sort that by "SR", that will show you all units in the Reserve Box. But the First Method is probably more visual and easier to manage until you get the hang

Yea I see your issue, ignore this window and NEVER OPEN IT AGAIN!
This window has in game 0 use. Enter the "correct" Theatre Box as Q has explained (you may need to zoom/move the map occasionally (the TBs appear as boxes over the map)).

As the Brits say, "it does what it says on the tin". It's a decent jump map, especially when you cannot hot key maps or HQs.

Ahh -- going to the box in the corner worked -- thank you so much -- I really appreciate it!

Sincerely,
