[FIXED] Severe lagging every full minute

Post by Kennetho »

Hello Community,

I've created a large scenario PLA vs. Western allies (US, Japan etc) in hypothetical near future scenario.
I am aware it is very large and have many many units.

However, I am puzzled about the severe lagging every full minute.
Not at 00:00:37 but, 00:01:00, 00:02:00, 00:03:00 etc.
Making the scenario unplayable...
I've built other large scenarios, which does not lag in the same way as this scen.
Please help determine the cause of this and help me make the scen playable.

https://www.mediafire.com/file/0cnpdxlu ... .scen/file

The scenario is built on top of "To Kill the Queen" scenario which has some serious weather changes triggering.
Could this be it?

Turn on diagnostics. If you don't know how to do that, you can easily look it up in the manual. You can also run the benchmark scenario to see how your PC compares to other players and get a feel for what its capable of.

Some of your strikes have an insanely large target set. One single airstrike against an airbase has 452(!!!!) explicit targets. Is this intentional?

(This is a large part of the reason for the once-a-minute delays, as the aircraft on the ground preparing for the strikes are plotting out their flight courses and weapon-release waypoints).

I am playing the Northern Inferno Beware of the Badgers mission and I am also getting a game pause every minute on the turn of the minute.

I've checked saves from earlier in the scenario and they are not pausing. I've also tried other scenario saves from the campaign and they are not pausing either.

There isnt much going on on the scenario now either as I have got rid of all the enemies. I wonder if its because I've left the Cuban transport ship stranded and damaged. It's not moving anywhere but it's not sinking. I wonder if the game keeps checking on that? It's all I can think of.

I've attached the game save file.

Well hopefully you can get it resolved because I cant play the game like this its too annoying stopping every minute. I might just have to scrap this scenario and move on or play another game for a while until its sorted.

What is interesting is the scenario was not pausing when I started it. This pausing for two seconds at every minute only started happening half way through the scenario. So something must have triggered it.

Anyway I have the save from when it wasn't happening, and I have the save when it was happening. Something between the two saves caused the pausing to start.

I've attached these save files below with the suffix 'before pausing' and 'after pausing'. Unfortunately the two save files are six hours apart. But they might help pin it down.

It starts at 13:00:00. Just as the Cuban vessel is detected. I have run it several times. Its not very noticeable 15x time compression or lower.

Yes it definitely starts at 13.00 hrs. I am not sure its anything to do with the Cuban Ship though as that has been detected already well before then. I can't see anything happen at 13.00hrs that would cause it myself.

But at least I know now that it is likely to be constrained to this one scenario.

There is a possible fix for this currently undergoing internal testing.
