[FIXED] New pop up I am not understanding.

Post by Dannyp19 »

Been getting the following pop up "Waypoint(s) 3,4.5 desired altitude(s) adjusted to follow a valid flight plan"

Ive had this using the flight editor and not using the flight editor.

What is going on? It doesn't tell me what flight is being adjusted when I Don't use the planner, so I have to go to each flight and see what unit is having problems.

Anyone seeing this, if so, what to do about it?

Yes. I added it to a bug report with no ToT, but it seems it is not unique..hehe

I was hands-off with altitude, so not sure why this is happening.

Thanks!

Seems to happen when you split your allocated aircraft up into flights. (ex. add 4, assign 2 to flight).

Added a bug report here:

Thank

This was discussed in discord channel , it is the weapon minimum release altitude messing up with your flight plan.

Funny thing I was doing a TOT with a few bombers (TU-22M-Backfire) it has high-high-high profile and shooting cruise missiles (AS-4 Kitchen B Mod 2) with a 33000 min launch altitude. It kept the ingress WP before the IP WP and the weapon release WP at below 4000 ft. No matter how I tried to change the altitude in the flight planner to 36000 ft. (unchecking the locks) it would give me that pop up and revert back to the low altitude settings.

Today I had no flight plans or TOT's and it popped up. Trying to figure out what flight it was is a pain when you have a bunch in the air. This started after upgrading to 1328.10.

Not sure if the flight planner uses the Range and Profile settings in the DB when doing flight plan calc's, but that might be the issue.

Should be 'mostly harmless', so just ignore it. ;)

I think that it is just a new check/adjust to make sure that your ingress to target is at an altitude that lets you actually release the weapons that you have. When the default 200ft altitude ingress is too low, for example. Seems to be a good idea in theory to prevent the kind of "why the heck is my weapon not releasing" kind of bug reports that happened in earlier versions.

The downside is, the player can no longer specify an ASL altitude for those waypoints, only an AGL altitude. But since AGL is what usually counts on strike missions anyway, this seems tolerable. Don't know how that will affect compatibility, though.

Try clicking the checkbox that says "Terrain Following- Above Ground Level", then enter the 36000 ft. If you are over the ocean, 36000 ASL and AGL should be the same anyway.
