Command Resources: A Community Initiative

Post by GrandStrategos »

Several CMO Discord members have worked on various projects over the past few months, aiming to produce material to be used in scenarios, as a means to visualize information, or to assist new players.

Command Resources is a community effort to collect all of these individual pieces and publish them as one for easy access for all players of CMO.

Using the functionality of GitHub, we aim to develop installation Import/Export (.inst) files for facilities and ORBATs, LUA scripts, and reference points zones, developed using open-source intelligence resources and research by their creators, and share them here, allowing for better organisation.

The group operates on the official Matrix-run Discord server for Command.

You can download our repository from this link

CONTENTS
  • ADIZ and FIR for several countries and for historic conflicts, as well as several territorial zones made in Lua
  • Snippets of Lua for general-purpose usage
  • Facilities for both databases in .inst format, such as the Texas Towers in CWDB and the NORAD Warning System in DB3K
  • ORBATs for the 2022 USN and USMC created in .inst, last updated August 2022
  • Directory of official and community-based resources, as well as our own guides to assist in creating your own .insts files/Lua scripts and for CMO in general.

  • USAF ORBAT (Summer 2023)
  • Naval and Air ORBATs for Euro Countries (Fall 2023)
  • Naval and Air ORBATs for China/Russia (Winter 2023-Spring 2024)
  • Naval and Air ORBATs for Africa/SE Asia (Fall 2024)
  • Naval and Air ORBATS for each end of the year (starting from 2020) (Spring 2025)
  • Brigade template for ground units for major countries (useful for strike scenarios)
  • More facility .insts
  • More general purpose guides for learning the game or creating scenarios
  • Lua "Dynamic AI" guide from Grand (TBD)
CONTRIBUTING
Given that this is a public database, you are welcome to help out if you are willing to add a .inst/LUA script that belongs to you.
  • Those who want to add their own .insts/Lua scripts to the database can submit a pull request in the GitHub and put their file/folder in the relevant directory.
  • Errors from Lua scripts/.insts, as well as any issues with the above files? Report them by filing an issue in the GitHub.
CREDITS
GrandStrategos (me) created the ORBATS for USN and USMC
SaraNL created many of the facility .insts, as well as the Lua codes for the various importable zones and the first guides and link directory
Kinaros (Dimii Hendrix on Discord) created importable zones for Greece, as well as some of the .insts and the Lua snippets section.

Feel free to contact us on the Discord if you need any help with things.

Hello

Ive created single unit ports in various locations and placed in the Importing/Exporting Facilities Nations Topic, perhaps better to place here and maybe close the other topic with a redirection to here?

The ports I have created are okay for me and perhaps a few others, but probably not suitable enough to release to the entire C:MO community, they need some work on them, specifically a munition storage facility (at the minimum). They are in the correct location. Im also working on DPRK, which has been time consuming (to say the least) at times having to face plant the monitor screen to find what Im looking for (even with lat and long its not directly on the facility), and its currently sitting at 70 units I have added. I have called it DPRK to save confusion with the current C:MO North Korea.

Facilities as below .....

Hello

I deleted my previous thread related to DPRK as I did not want two long threads following each other, as per my previous post placed it here as I created it for the C:MO community as opposed to the import/export thread (apologies if I have done the wrong thing).

I created DPRK facilities as I have an interest in the DPRK and seem to spend more time with C:MO creating facilities rather than scenarios.

To create DPRK facilities/units for C:MO I used the following ...
-Google Earth
-AccessDPRK (free version)
-SASPLanet

Here are two screenshots ....
Can you find the tunnel entrance?

DPRK (BETA).jpg
DPRK (BETA).jpg (544.86 KiB) Viewed 3029 times

Notes:
- Espionage Training Centre
According to defector testimony, there exists an underground training centre for North Korea's spies and inflitrators.
It contains models of key South Korean areas, like Seoul, including "working" shops so they can learn how to use money etc.
Info via "Under the Care of the Fatherly Leader" by Bradley Martin.
- Sinpo Test stand
Construction began in late 2012/early 2013. Used for "canister" testing of submarine missile systems.
- Tumangang-Khasan Rail Crossing
The only border crossing into Russia.
- Ryongsong Residence Main Kim Compound
Main residence of Kim Jong Un and his family
- Government Complex No. 1
This is where the main leadership of the DPRK works.
It houses the headquarters of the Workers' Party of Korea and the State Affairs Commission, the country's ruling party and supreme state organ, respectively.
- Chiha-ri Missile Base
The Chiha-ri base functions both as a missile brigade support base and as a launch facility.
As a technical support base, Chiha-ris function is to maintain, repair and refurbish operational missiles.
The engineers and technicians here likely perform duties similar to those of personnel at Iraq's Taji facility.
It is conceivable that support and launch functions are both located at Chiha-ri.
- Sangnam-ni Missile Base
It is likely a battalion- or regiment-sized base. It houses Hwasong-10 (Musudan) intermediate-range ballistic missiles.
The base covers approx. 2.28 sq. km.
**Hwasong-10 have been replaced with Hwasong-15*
- Kusong Base
Missile systems onsite as reported by Janes, note the distance from Kusong (57kms)..named for the area, not the city?
- Feb 8 General Machine Plant
Unknown if date relates to the date opened or a leader visited e.g Kim Jong-il on that date
- JSA units will have to be put as side South Korea
- Large Electrical Pylon (wires connecting to it from three directions)

Please provide feedback, suggestions or any other sites you would like e.g more communications, radar, SAM etc

Hope you enjoy DPRK and hope to see some creative scenarios.
