I have tried to download the new update, but after it gets to the point where it starts to download the update it stops
and gives me this message: "Error Unable to download file, a error has occurred while trying to open a FTP file."

Sorry you're having problems. Can you try again through the auto updater and if that doesn't work through the members area download and let us know how it goes.

Are you normally able to download patches?

I have successfully updated the game by the manually downloading the update from the website. For some reason the auto updater would not work.

Yes, the auto updater also didn't work for me (again, never worked, there was alwyays this issue). But downloading and installing manually went okay.

Same here, the auto updater has never worked for Armored Brigade for me.
