OOB Position and Command and Control?

Post by BeirutDude »

Ok I think I know the answer but want to make sure, say my OOB Has this structure...

Syrian Army Hq
-------1st Corps Hq
-----------1st Armored Division Hq
---------------44th Armored Brigade Hq
--------------------1st Armored Bn
--------------------2nd Armored Bn
--------------------3rd Armored BN

And I want to use the 44th Armored Brigade in a scenario as the highest HQ present. Do I have to position the 44th Armored Brigade in the OOB as a separate unit such as...

Syrian Army Hq
-------1st Corps Hq
-----------1st Armored Division HQ
44th Armored Brigade HQ
-----1st Armored Bn
-----2nd Armored Bn
-----3rd Armored BN

To have command and control/resupply work or does the scenario understand to use the 44th Armored Brigade HQ if the higher HQs are not present. This is important as I will just use the "Master OOB" if I don't have to reposition the units for a particular scenario.

Hope that made sense?

Thanks for the reply but I'm still not sure, if I understand it correctly (I old and a bit slow [&:] ), the OOB HAS TO be structured like this?
[/b]
Syrian Army Hq
-------1st Corps Hq
-----------1st Armored Division HQ
44th Armored Brigade HQ
-----1st Armored Bn
-----2nd Armored Bn
-----3rd Armored BN

and can not be structured like this..'
Syrian Army Hq
-------1st Corps Hq
-----------1st Armored Division Hq
---------------44th Armored Brigade Hq
--------------------1st Armored Bn
--------------------2nd Armored Bn
--------------------3rd Armored BN

for 44th Armored Brigade to be the highest level unit on the map and have Command and control/supply work?

It can be structured by your second example if you do not include the higher echelon HQ's.

Either way, the command structure will still work for those under the brigade, you just don't get the added benefits of having them under the other HQ's if you intend to include them later.

Roger that, I'll have the Master OOB and was just wanting to use subsections of it for the various scenarios.[8D]
