Trouble connecting in a multiplayer game

Post by GaryChildress »

Taoopaipai and I were trying to start a multiplayer game. We coudn't get connected. I tried hosting and then he tried hosting. At one point he said he could see my game but when he tried to join it was blocked. I never did see his hosted game. I completely disabled my firewall at one point and that didn't seem to help.

How do you set up a multiplayer game? [&:]

Thanks.

Both players need to allow CCMT through their Firewall

also if you have a router you need to forward the correct ports to your computer.

47624 TCP;

2300-2400 TCP and UDP

That's all you need then you will be able to join and Host.

What about if I took my router out of the loop, connected my computer directly to the DSL modem? That would eliminate the need to forward the ports wouldn't it? That would effectively remove half of the equation and I would be able to determine if it were an issue with my Internet protection suite, right?

Possibly

Check that both your router and modem don't have built in firewalls to "protect" you.
