I wonder if you can help me. I installed your Star Trk mod but when I try to switch themes I get an error message: line 43 races.txt something to do with set name and it won't load. I am using rots patched to the latest (1.07 I think).

Hey arjanlance,
Are you running Return of the Shakturi? This mod is only compitable with that exansion only. The latest version for RotS is 1.5.08.
If you're running the original Distant Worlds, I can supply you with a version for that if you like.
And if you're running Legends, you'll just have to be patient, I'm still working on it.[;)]

Thanks for the quick response Igard. I love your work. I've seen the pics and I can't wait to play your Star Trek mods. I am a lifelong trekkie. I've even been to a couple of Star trek conventions and met some of the original and TNG crew. I checked and I only have rots updated to 1.07. I will update to the latest patch and try again. Maybe that's why it wasn't working before. Cheers. Lance.

YES!!! Now it's working!! Great work Igard. Has anyone created a custom map with the names and positions of the stars and empires from the Star Trek Universe??

Custom maps have been discussed before, but still not viable. It would take a lot of work to create, and then you'd have to create one for every race!
What I've requested before is an option to save a map in the editor. Then an option to load the map in the map setup screen. This of course would blank out all the options for empire sizes, but it would the best think I think.

Yeh, custom maps would be nice. I'd also like to be able to edit resources. For example, I think water should be a resource. It is the number one requirement for life and probably not as abundant in the galaxy as it is on Earth. I just edited my home system (Federation) in my new game. I named all the planets in our solar system and included a few of the major moons (Io, Europa, Titan etc..). I love the in game editor!! I placed a resort on Saturn, weapons research on the Mars colony, a monitoring station on Pluto.... edit-gasm!!

I've created the solar system too, a couple of times. Great fun! It's just a shame it doesn't last. We need a save option for our maps!

It's pretty negative at this time. Haven't worked on the mod for about a week now! Still got Romulan and Klingon characters to do, and I plain forgot about the Son'a, so still got them to do. I've just got to sit down and work at it for a couple of evenings and I'll be very close to the finish.
I really want to get this done by the end of the month as I'm entering a model building contest that will consume alot of my time starting in April.
So if Ed has some previews to whet your appetite, hopefully he'll post some screenies and you can keep me motivated with your feedback.[:D]
