Artillery strike never happens

The new Cold War turned hot wargame from On Target Simulations, now expanded with the Player's Edition! Choose the NATO or Soviet forces in one of many scenarios or two linked campaigns. No effort was spared to model modern warfare realistically, including armor, infantry, helicopters, air support, artillery, electronic warfare, chemical and nuclear weapons. An innovative new asynchronous turn order means that OODA loops and various effects on C3 are accurately modeled as never before.

Artillery strike never happens

Post by MTTODD »

Hi,

I instructed a mortar to fire smoke, but it never happens.

When I look at the time it was suppose to of happened, the time has just been increased.

Many thanks for any help.

Does it have smoke ammo left? Is it under FSCC control? Is it in range of its parent HQ?

Well smoke ammo is appearing in drop down barrage list, so I guess so.

They are within HQ radius.

How do I check if they are under FSCC control ? Nothing in appears in red on unit panel.

Can you send me the save game file to check it out? Something strange going on from the sound of it. What are the weather conditions?

Hi all,

I did in fact have a similar issue with my artillery in a different scenario recently (A Thin Tan Line, I cannot yet link to the post in the "AI artillery - help me understand" thread). The fire missions just never happened and got postponed again and again.

Eventually, after a few reloads of my savegames, the issue resolved itself and my Abbots fired normally (meaning: ineffectually [:'(]). It looks a bit random to me, but let me know if my safefile might help, too.

Was hoping to get to your file over the weekend, but Easter family commitments and working on data for a new Southern Storm build ate up my time. Try to look tomorrow evening.
