W.Allies Summer 1944
The Russians finally move to threaten Berlin, a development that should force Rafael to balance out his defenders and, ultimately, lead to the fall of Germany. As we've been saying for a while, it's really up to him who he surrenders to.

In the Pacific the Allied buildup continues. A few Japanese ships and bombers are blasted but the core of the Japanese defense remains strong. He has 17 fighters and counting, so the air battles, when they start, should be ferocious.

Germany Fa 44

The soviets are finally at the gates of Berlin, so forces were railed from W to E Germany, will the Soviets try to take Berlin, I doubt it though the allies will go for W Germany, but we'd rather have colour tvs, radios and cars, than long rows in the markets for buying goods [;)]

I guess this is it for Germany, good luck to my Axis partner.

And Congratulations to Tim and Phil, it will be interesting to see how thing develop once they take Japan.

W. Allies Fall 1944
Sorry, forgot to take a screenshot this turn.
Germany falls (finally) to a massive assault from the West. The strategic situation essentially force Rafael to choose who he'd fall to. The power of democracy (and better televisions) wins out.

Forces are shifted to the Pacific as we gear up for the final attack there. The Japanese traded 5 fighters for six of mine last turn, and I expect the same grinding attrition over the next couple of turns.

Sorry, Anthony, I can't see any reason off the top of my head why the fighters you damaged should have made it back to a factory. Perhaps because they only transported in during the W.Allied turn they were still somehow linked back. Not that I'm complaining, mind you.

The Russians, meanwhile, will now undoubtedly pour into Manchuria and China. It's worth looking ahead somewhat. Phil's neutral-gorging spree in Europe has left both of us with exposed positions and no clear or at least natural avenue for attacking or defending. It should be interesting.

Hey guys if you think there might be a bug, please save the file and send it to WanderingHead or Jan Sorensen, they will look into it and figure it out.

Just noticed the same thing in our other game as Axis. After taking back Cairo an Allied fighter did rebased in Cyprus so I did send a HVY Bomber to get rid of it and it was damaged but got no message that it was destroyed because there is no link to a factory. I have the save game from my opponent so it would be easy to redo the attack and wait for the same results if someone want to try or I can reload and take some screenshots.

That's no bug, if I'm not wrong, if its speed allows to reach Cairo and Cairo has a link with transports then the fighter makes it to the production line.
While beta testing it was agreed that fighters based in Malta were easily destroyed if there was no transport link when damaged, so it was made that if they could reach with their speed a friendly territory they would not be destroyed.
Also iirc there is some information about this in the upgrade readme.txt

I think Polonhi must have it, Tim has done his turn and I guess he must have sent it to Phil since I'm out.

Don't have it as Tim is the Allied Player so he should send his turn to Anthony playing Japan.

The mistery has been solved, Tim sent it to me but I only read the text in the mail and payed no attention to the file attached, he did also send the save file for if I wanted to see the replay, but since I knew I was out I never thought of sending it to a511 ( to tell the truth I didn't notice the attach file), believing Tim had done so, but he hadn't. So today I got a mail from Tim I finally realized what had happened.

The turn has been sent to a511, so this game should start rolling again [:)]

Winter 1945:

Russia:

Germany surrenders, now we notice that if Eastern Germany did well join our Worker Paradise somehow the Allies managed to steal the factories while they kept the one in Western Germany. Interesting [&:]

Russia is now at peace...

China:

Germany surrenders??? so what!!!

WA has deployed 30 fhts in Bonin Island [X(] but none of them were used to protect the USN ... so the IJN did the final attack and get rid of a couple of USN there.

W.Allies Spring 45
Oops, somehow forgot to give those transports fighter cover. Well damn.
The Allies begin the process of destroying the Japanese air force, however given it's disperal and ample time to prepare it's going to be a chore. Most of the carrier fleet is also dispatched to the ocean floor, although the USN's shooting was most unimpressive given our numerical superiority.

Meanwhile in Europe and across South Asia an ominous buildup of Soviet forces continues. Phil has stretched the Evil Empire across a wide swathe of territory with many points through which to attack. We'll have to start thinking soon about where we want to build up a solid defense. Our spies indicate that he's keeping his main force buildup away from the borders in a somewhat transparent attempt to lull us into a false sense of security. But we know the Red Hoardes are out there.

Screenshot shows the Japanese home defenses. They still have some striking power, but precious few supplies.

Hey Tim are you going for the A-Bomb, if not you are going to have a tough time cracking Japanese defenses.
