Designing Aircraft

Post by gw15 »

Designing aircraft is extremely frustrating because you have to go through 4 or 6 choices before the program will let you know if it is viable and the range. With the possible thousands of combinations it takes a long time.

Anyone have suggestions on how they do it efficiently?

Pymous did this mockup for tanks:

Something similar for aircraft would probably work.

Oh wow, this is gorgeous !

I redid the design many times over in changing just a single parameter and comparing the results. Still cumbersome, yeah, something like Alpha Centauri's (cost!) or Distant World's (drive parameters!) unit editors would be sooo much better !

Kewl!

Would have to have scrolling lists, air craft require more resources.

Drop down scrolling menus per choice may be better than scrolling lists.

Though seeing the differences may be better.

Pymous - excellent! Where can I get the files?

I wish I had the skills to prepare something like that for planes. Maybe EXCEL with drop downs.
