I don't know the nomenclature....

Post by RevRick »

BUT!! One of the more particularly annoying habits of WitP was the irritating little trait of, when accessing the ships or weapons tables on the upper left hand of the tool bar on top, one had to scroll down to find the ship, weapon, or plane one wanted, and when there was a desire to check another iteration (upgrade) of the same, for example, ship, the automatic routing of the wee little button still takes one back the the very beginning of the access point for the data screen, necessitating even more scrolling, hunting, and fuming, because by that point, if one is in the situation I find myself - rapidly enveloping geezerhood - there is a distinct possibility that the reason for accessing the second screen has been forgotten entirely, and the process must, of necessity, commence from the initial point a second time.

Has there, perchance, been any improvement in this particular area of information access? I would hope.

I use WitPTracker for this now. It is much better. But, it would be nice if they would fix it in the main program for AE.

Agreed. The database is irritating.

I'll jump on this thought! LOVE Tracker but wish it could be directly implemented into WitP...

eerrrr.... any chance of expanding on that answer Don? I've been asking for WitP tracket to be included in AE for a while. So does your 'yes' mean this has been done? Or..... not?

There is no change to the main class display - it's assigned job is to provide lookup for a specific class. Adding features here has never been high enough on the priority list - and that list is never small.

There will never be anything like WITP Tracker inside AE (or WITP). The nature of the internal data structures do not provide for the kind of data retention and comparison that Woos is able to do using large external archives and SQL. Perhaps, in some future incarnation, a true database might become available inside the game. Not now.

What has been provided is a class upgrade display linked to the main ship screen. One can "walk" the class upgrades for this ship from current to end of eternity, and back.

Ooh.Ooh. Did you include the Sovereign Class in the Enterprise upgrades??? Ooh. Ooh.

Seriously, that sounds great. Thanks for answering this small a question. I appreciate it. Can't wait for the game to come out and the games in the house commence - my discussions with the "finance committee."

But, honey. If I spend all my time with the game I'll eat less and the cost of food will come down. Besides that, I'll lose weight... Put the pan down, honey, please..

Naw. She knows she's lucky I don't pat it as that SYT goes by. Besides, watching the never ending and always amazing varieties of beauty in the female form is one of the only reliefs of Geezerhood. Thank you, Lord..

Wife: "Ahah! I caught you!. You're on that War in the Pacific Website Again!"

Me: "No, honey. Honest! I've been looking at internet porn all day!"

Wife: "Don't lie to me you wargamer. I know you too well. The next thing you're going to say is that the blonde on your lap is your PBEM opponent!"

Me: "Actually honey, I've been having an affair with the blonde for the last three months."

Wife: "HAH! The only affair you've been having is with some girl named Sara Toga in the the South Pacific recesses of your War in the Pacific mind!"

THUMP

Me: "OUCH"

Blonde: " I'll send you my turn next week when you're healed up."
