Scen 1/Scen 2 game as allied

Post by Encircled »

Well, when I say Allied, I can play the Japanese as well but I'm well out of practice with that and I suggest I might not be very good with them.

Look, I know what I'm doing, last game with Revrico ended in Sept 1944 a few months ago and I've been recharging my batteries

I don't quit ever, and I don't do anything other than polite chit chat in my e-mails!

But I work, have two kids and have other things on the go, so I'm not going to be able to fling turns out like its going out of fashion, but I might if I'm on a quiet week!

Anyone still interested after all that?

Well, I was interested until I saw this.

No smack talk? No political diatribes? No taunting, jibes, bruising vernacular or rubbing one's nose in it? I'm not sure I can take several years of such banalities, mate.

ETA: I would be tempted, Encircled, but for the fact that I've got another PBEM on my plate right now that seems to be going well. Like you I have a life away from the game, and one game is sufficient for now. Best wishes finding a long-term partner.

Cheers CB

I sort of overdosed on playing it last time, so I'm keen to try to keep my normal life and my WITP life separate!

First off I don't play the Japanese (playing with production has long since become nothing of interest to me). Therefore you'd have to take the Japanese.

Second, I can easily do a relaxed game. I'm retired now but I remember the days when wives, work and children competed for ones time. So instead of playing I might try an AAR.

Third, I'd like to play the Big B Mod (which seems to be a real interest killer). What this Mod does is summed up in my two previous postings this section of the Forum (the path to victory is beating the US/UK - not China). Since the Allies get all sorts of stuff late in the game I would only "require" you to play til 1/1/44. Then we can figure out who wins[:)]

BTW: the Chinese have been somewhat weakened from previous versions of the MOD

So back to you if you still want a game.

You sound like just what I'd want in an opponent, but I haven't made a turn in a month in my AI game. The current hang up is health related, but it seems there's always something new that gets in my way. And here I thought I'd have all the time in the world once I retired.[:'(]

Good luck, and good hunting.

I'm not a big fan of the mods to be honest as I struggle enough with vanilla!

I'm massively out of practice with the Japanese, and like you say the production/resource/supply ramifications can take a while to relearn.

I suspect I'd be a poor Japanese opponent to an experienced player these days. But I'd be willing to give vanilla scen 1 or scen 2 a go.

Rustysi

Cheers for the best wishes

Hope your health gets better!

Since I have no experience with the Japanese and am pretty well set on playing Big B Mod I'll simply wish you the best of luck.

No problem!

One thing I've got is enough stuff to keep me busy till I find an opponent!

How many turns are you (expecting) per week at a minimum?

Looks like my current game has died so I could be interested, however I would ideally like at least a turn a day, maybe two once the necessarily long early turns are done with.

Hanzburger

It does all depend on how busy I am with work and family stuff. I'd hope for a turn a day when the initial mammoth turns are over but it is possible that would drop when the kids have lots of stuff on and work is busy

Miller

As above really, it all depends on work/family stuff

I'll always let you know though

(only time I couldn't was when we got flooded out of our house during Storm Desmond in 2016, and my opponent was very understanding!)

Ok thanks, obviously real life has to come first. I'll drop out and let someone who better matches your likely schedule take you up on a game.

No problem

I'd rather be honest and up front now than it being a problem further down the line.

I haven't played in more than 5 years but I'm interested in starting a new PBEM. Would take me a little while to get up to speed.

Cheers for all the interest!
